So who started this thread? Maid or Augmum? ๐Ÿ˜‰
Happy mama, actually i started a thread on \"All About Boiling Soups\" and
requested maid to move the recent relevant discussions on soups we have from \"how to cook nice meals\" to here. ๐Ÿ˜„

i also din know there's an existing thread on soups too, so prob she merged all of them here.
can boil it with prob ribs also, but the soup not so 'smooth\" becos pork ribs are lean meat.

go best with twee bak or pork belly.....(is the fatty part that's Nice)

oh yes, forget to tell u, taste better if u add some ่œœ ๆžฃ (u now what is that?)

  don't know... can write in ENGRISH please?
่œœ ๆžฃ are honey dates, something like red dates but bigger and sweeter,
so dun add a lot like red dates, 2-3 will do, otherwise the soup will be too sweet.

I thought pork ribs are already quite fatty? Wah, still not fatty enough? :!:

depends on what type of pork ribs, some are rather lean
as for me, whenever i boil this ่œๅนฒ soup, Iโ€™ll use pork belly insteadโ€ฆ. ๐Ÿ˜‰
well....u still can use pork ribs, no prob.

r2010,
i also read fr this forum abt the peanut plant soup, have since boiled the soup b4.
juz buy 1 peanut plant and boil with porb ribs, can add some raw peanuts to enhance the taste.
someone mentioned adding some scallops to it.
and finally add some salt to taste.

Yerdua:

Unlike my mum who knows the recipes for the soups very well,
I resort to pre pack tonic in eu yan sang, Fu hua etc. All I need is to blanch the meat, lightly rinse the pre packed tonic
and put all into a hot pot of boiling water.
I use a pressure cooker so my soup will be ready in about 1/2 hrs time.
๐Ÿ˜„
yerdua,
yes, prepacked tonic are easy to prepare,
but the prob is, i found that the prepacked qty is little,
take for eg ๅ…ญๅ‘ณๆฑค๏ผŒunless u use 2 packets of it.
so i prefer \"self pack\" one.

Dun de-skin the apple, if not apple will disintegrate.
