Actually, I am more anxious to know the class median if not, average, rather than the highest. Some of these kids at the top...I ζε°θ«ε.

Yes, I am waiting to see his papers today and focus on those weak areas. Carelessness cannot be avoided but can only be reduced. I am now working on his March holidays and revising daily time-table to try and squeeze in EL compo and oral as well as breathing spacejanet_lee88:
His Maths CA1 is 33% (hubby is super stunned)...the other 3 subjects in Band 3. Lots of bucking up to do during the Mar holidays.
Janet, <<hugs>> to you. I think at this time, you should be anxious to pull up his marks.
When you see the papers today, try to be objective to spot the weaknesses and ε―ΉηδΈθ― ok. There could be various reasons that he did not do well. If you see that some questions that he should know yet he could not score, then he might have cool feet during exams. I believe the best learning environment is to have a balance of leisure and pressure, for both the child as well as the caregiver. Of course, you know him better, I wish you all the best! :hugs:
Very difficult...on one hand if I relax on grammar/vocab a little, he will slide in those 2 areas, but how else can I insert time for compo/oral then
hi marckfch,

85 is Band 1 from P1-5.
If my son can bring his marks up to high Band 2, I will be very happy. Bonus if he can bring his Science (his strong subject) to Band 1. -
IJJ:
Correct, DH is anxious like you too....but that have to wait till Fri's

Janet, calm down before you plan, only then your planning will be more effective. SA1 is not right after Mar holidays. You still have some times. Try not to squeeze too much, otw, even if he covers many works, he may not be able to absorb effectively. -
IJJ:
Yes, have to be calm or else have tension headache.

Even if I want to squeeze in, he may not absorb. So, work on oral and some pic compo (common themes like robbery, fire) to give him rough idea on how to write. -
hi Janet, I believe the results are much of a shock to your son too.. in the midst of all the studying, have to make time for bonding too, to help him cope with the results...
My ds is very weak in all subjects, and I used to try and squeeze out as much time as i can to help him study.. then his kindy teachers feedback that he has been tellin his classmates that Mommy no longer has time for him, and only loves him when he does his work..
that was quite sobering to hear.. -
Thanks Janet. All the best. I can imagine the stress. Already every night doing chinese with him is a struggle. He even had to borrow his classmates paper to cos he lost his sheets. Dunno how he can always lose his things

markfch:
Thanks markfch. ok this one kept in school so not too bad.
Yes for Int-8, they need to bring a white board set (with marker & duster) to be kept in sch. I got it from IMM Popular. It's about the size of a computer notebook. They used it for the informal CL spelling today.masshiro:

I feel the schoolbag very heavy with a lot of things. Do they need the grammar or wordbank book everday? Is there anything we can remove from bag?
I really hope the shifting when our kids are P5 and 6 won't affect them too much. So sian to kena when they're at their most critical period in primary school.
