IJJ:
Correct, DH is anxious like you too....but that have to wait till Fri's
My girl's class highest for CL is 99.5, by one of her kakis. She was :dancing: machiam it was her score. :lol:Mum1113:
Hi P4 parents
From all inputs, it seems this is the brief summary at whole level, kindly make any changes if necessary. This is to get an early gauge before Fri's meeting
P4 Highest in cohort
EL - 93
CL - 99
Maths - 97
Science - 92.5
Actually, I am more anxious to know the class median if not, average, rather than the highest. Some of these kids at the top...I ζε°θ«ε.

Yes, I am waiting to see his papers today and focus on those weak areas. Carelessness cannot be avoided but can only be reduced. I am now working on his March holidays and revising daily time-table to try and squeeze in EL compo and oral as well as breathing space
Very difficult...on one hand if I relax on grammar/vocab a little, he will slide in those 2 areas, but how else can I insert time for compo/oral then
Janet, calm down before you plan, only then your planning will be more effective. SA1 is not right after Mar holidays. You still have some times. Try not to squeeze too much, otw, even if he covers many works, he may not be able to absorb effectively. -
IJJ:
Yes, have to be calm or else have tension headache.

Even if I want to squeeze in, he may not absorb. So, work on oral and some pic compo (common themes like robbery, fire) to give him rough idea on how to write. -
hi Janet, I believe the results are much of a shock to your son too.. in the midst of all the studying, have to make time for bonding too, to help him cope with the results...
My ds is very weak in all subjects, and I used to try and squeeze out as much time as i can to help him study.. then his kindy teachers feedback that he has been tellin his classmates that Mommy no longer has time for him, and only loves him when he does his work..
that was quite sobering to hear.. -
His Maths CA1 is 33% (hubby is super stunned)...the other 3 subjects in Band 3. Lots of bucking up to do during the Mar holidays.
Janet, <<hugs>> to you. I think at this time, you should be anxious to pull up his marks.
When you see the papers today, try to be objective to spot the weaknesses and ε―ΉηδΈθ― ok. There could be various reasons that he did not do well. If you see that some questions that he should know yet he could not score, then he might have cool feet during exams. I believe the best learning environment is to have a balance of leisure and pressure, for both the child as well as the caregiver. Of course, you know him better, I wish you all the best! :hugs:
Thanks Janet. All the best. I can imagine the stress. Already every night doing chinese with him is a struggle. He even had to borrow his classmates paper to cos he lost his sheets. Dunno how he can always lose his things

Thanks markfch. ok this one kept in school so not too bad.
Yes for Int-8, they need to bring a white board set (with marker & duster) to be kept in sch. I got it from IMM Popular. It's about the size of a computer notebook. They used it for the informal CL spelling today.masshiro:
hi marckfch,
Do you know if our kids are supposed to bring whiteboard n marker to school. My son said he missed tingxie today cos he didn't bring. Haiz..didn't even tell us he needs
Thanks.
I feel the schoolbag very heavy with a lot of things. Do they need the grammar or wordbank book everday? Is there anything we can remove from bag?
I really hope the shifting when our kids are P5 and 6 won't affect them too much. So sian to kena when they're at their most critical period in primary school. -

Dun fret..
P1 is a big change for our kids, they now have to cope with longer hours, and take responsibility for many things including their belongings.. it's a learning process I guess.. my ds also keep losing his things.. but at least he learnt to go to the office to look for them!! and to tell his teacher he needs help finding them!!

My P4 boy lost his CL dict (passed down by my elder boy), so we went to Popular to buy a replacement. But could not find the same one. Was told by a friend that sch bookshop sells.
I checked the sch booklist and noticed the CL dict in the this year P4 booklist is approved up to 2012 only. Our present P4 PSLE year is 2013.
This morning I checked SEAB website http://www.seab.gov.sg/dictionaryList/2011PSLEDictList.pdf
There are two CL dict that are approved up to 2015.
If anyone of you is thinking of buying CL e-dict, do refer to the new list for approved models. -

Cannot ignore P5 kid...but P1 is having too much fun, thinking she is still in K2. Maths worksheet returned yesterday with number bonds all wrong.
