LCentral Discussion

MMM:
I saw their preschool materials and thought it was quite solid especially for K2? Especially the words.kitty2:
I have seen LC Central materials. Thought it was pretty normal.
I agreed with you and i spoke to the incharge of a centre,he said they'll progress gradually from easy to difficult level.I wonder whether it's true as upper primary doesn't have much time to go slowly.Any of your kids from the upper primary level, please share.
Thanks
I've 2 kids in P3 and P4. They switch from BC (after 2 yrs) to LCentral in the last 1-2 terms. I like Lcentral materials and felt that they are alot more academic. They will revise on grammar rules,etc.... guide on compo writing as well.
So far so good, but we also need to see how that can get translated into school results first.
Thanks for sharing, the material fee is ex and need to pay every term. -
Hi,
Can share any feedback on LC at Bukit Timah for P1 & P2? Thinking of sending my kids over. TIA -
hi Parents,
Anyone sending their kids to LCentral for phonics ? How is it ? -

My 2 kids enjoy the lessons, the teachers make the lessons fun, apparently. But DS does find the spellings difficult, he's in K2, so I'm stressed up too; coming to the point that I'm thinking I should just let him enjoy the lessons, never mind the very low scores in spelling, and how much he actually absorbs.hi Parents,

DD is a top scorer in the class, she's in P1, still at the lift-off stage, joining the p1 class soon. My assessment is she doesn't need the class as she reads very well, but she doesn't mind attending as she finds it fun. -
Dear Rafy,
Thank you for sharing !

Any feedback for Teacher Monica and Leah?
I've PM you. I like teacher Leah as my son is currently taught by her. She makes an effort to mark their work thorougly and she appears to be very encouraging to me. -
Hi MMM,
How old is your son? I m curious to find out if Lcentral will be suitable for primary school level. My DD is currently in Lcentral too, but she is only K2.MMM:

Hi i3mum,Hi MMM,

My P4 and P3 are currently with Lcentral. They switched from BC after 2 years. Think we are very patient.
This is my P4's 2nd term and my P3's 1st term. So I can't comment much in terms of results at this point. As you know, you cannot expect them to do wonders overnite to language. There are still alot of area of improvement that my kids need to fix it themselves. But what I like about Lcentral is as follows :
* They are academic. The kids have spelling everyweek.
* They have structured materials that they do each week. Grammar exercises, etc.... The teachers will mark them and provide suggestions.
* They do compo and compre though might not be every week due to time.
* Native speakers so they are less likely to be hearing singlish speaking teachers.
My only confidence/ desire to try the program came from my mum's friend's son. He studied in one of the top primary schools and he did Lcentral from P4 - P6. He also switched from BC. Though he is not the top of cohort type but his PSLE scores was decent and he is currently in Chung Cheng Main.
For us, we are still monitoring the situation.
