True true, my DH is less anal, he was quite happy that I finally made up my mind :rotflmao:
Truth be told, the psle thingy did bug me in the initial days. Finally DH and I concluded that it's up to us to handle our kids and provide them with whatever support they may require. And I'm glad that this thread is more active - esp with inputs from PSG. At least other researching parents will have a better idea what's going on, what are current parents' bugbears etc. Some noise better than silence.SAHM_TAN:
I think it's a search process for parents. Some will decide on reputation, PSLE results, achievements to decide because it's the most obvious. Some like me will apply PV to many schools to feel the vibe, converse with staff and scan forum. For me this thread was very quiet when I was scanning. So I relied on my gut feel when I was PVing in the school. I like what I feel
The T-score does bug me a bit because I'm the kind of person who likes to know everything. I a bit anal that way  I know it has nothing to do with my kid, but as I say, I'm anal that way
I guess it's becos he's more worldly than me  -

Sure it is.. i hope i chip in by providing correct accurate update so that to cut down many misconceptions among parents.
My focus will be on addressing issues at School level or at least Class level.... And please Do not ask me about how to score .. what to study and how to get Band I.
These are problems that i have left to my sons to figure out. i merely facilitate and aid them to reach their goals. I just only knew that once a child is independent and he has positive characters, resilient and compassionate, he can achieve anything in life. -

hi all
hope to join you guys in a few years as this school is near my place. need to volunteer?
just wondering how do i check which mother tongue language available in hw?
for parents with kids in hw, how are the teachers? are they caring, nice to students?
guess im not the conventionally go for psle kind but i hope my kids to love their school and learning -
Hope the school can consider to let the pupils to go recess by batches....
I understand some school they actually practice that... e.g. P1 & P4 ... or lower Pri dismiss 10 min earlier etc..
Since 3rd wk of school my DD has been bringing lunchbox to school (either bread or cake). She told me she don't want to q up to buy food from the canteen cos a lot of people.
Actually i can understand her cos last time in CCC. Those aunty will sent their lunch to their classroom. No need to so called fight with others... Moreover those P1 kid so small build how to fight with those upper pri pupil.
As and when i will ask her: Do you want to try to buy food from the canteen. Then she will said: NO MUMMY I WANT YOU TO PREPARE LUNCHBOX FOR ME

I'm a parent PVing in HWS.
HWS is a SAP school, so there's only Chinese as MT.
This school is rather popular in the area, there's balloting for phase 2C in recent years. So if you want higher chance then good idea to volunteer.
My kids not in HW yet, so will leave the other questions to other mummies

May I add that under 2B, thus far, there were no balloting required - so all got in - I get the feeling that there are more and more pvs, so it's anyone's guess if there will be balloting in future. As for 2C, there has been balloting within 1KM - so if you are staying outside of 1KM, and only intend to go under 2C, better have a backup plan.
