DDS, I think the answer is no for your question, i.e. you have to deal one by one. Even you put them to the same school where balloting is needed, you can choose to bind them or split them. When you bind them, they will either all in or all out. When you split, you may have half luck but you have to deal with the other half. It is in MOE website.

@30plus, thanks for your reply....indeed you are right....emailed to MOE to check and they reverted saying that if one is successful and the other one is not, then the unsuccessful applicant will then have to register under Phase 2C suppl. Actually I more or less knew that this would be the answer but was hoping there might be this 'loophole' available.....sigh..... -

actually, this child is my daughter’s classmate in the kindergarten.
her case is quite … on the surface, it’s like she got so many good schools to go to, it is like … so near and yet so far …
i) she stay 1.8 km from SCGS…
not sure if can get in as PV bec SCGS very selective over PV, even though she will definitely apply.
ii) her father from ex-ACS. But child can’t enter ACS, bec child is girl.
iii) the mother studied at RGPS only one year, primary 1 in 1970s, but lost report card in the midst of shifting house in 1970s. Lost report card, lost primary 1 class photograph. Whatever she tried to retrieve / dig out … all lost ! Can’t trace back.
if she can produce report card even for 1 year Pri 1, also good. Then her child still can enter RGPS. As long as you ever study in that school before. Dont care how many years the kid study in the school before.
her parents transfered my friend out to another primary school when she was in Pri 2 … because they shifted house. Later, that primary school she transfered to closed down in 1990s.
iii) paternal grandmother studied in such a good school before, NYPS. But can’t enter, bec like what you say, grandparents can’t.
so sad … sigh!
now it all depends on … this child’s fate.
anyway, just want to highlight here imporant lesson learnt here…
plesase, please … do NOT lose your primary school report card, no matter what happens - shift house, etc. You never know how useful / important this report card is going to be. It will come in useful / handful / beneficial to yr child one day. -
I would say RGPS is the best bet as 1 year there should qualify.
Try call the school to check any other means to verify via school’s record or call MOE to see can get some records of the mother ever study that school. -

will definitely relay yr message to my friend - start seeking help from MOE side to dig out past records from 1970s history, also from RGPS side. Hopefully, they had archived all these past pupils’ names records. -

a note to all parents here.

pls keep your child’s report card at all costs.
a) it is THAT important and THAT valuable / crucial, to yr grand children 30 yrs down the road later.
no amount of money can possibly get you back this report card, once you misplace it.
see, now my friend had to go through so much hassle and trouble … to approach MOE see if can dig out past 1970s records, got to approach RGPS school, as well. And whether can retrieve out or not, only time will tell. Can only try our best to retrieve !
all these hassle is not necessary … if only her parents had kept her report card carefully / properly.
b) second reason is … later, some parents here may have kids getting transfered to GEP schools later at Primary 4, if yr child is been offered by MOE to pursue GEP. This means your child will end up having 2 sets of report cards.
keep these 2 sets of reports cards carefully - the one BEFORE transfer to GEP school, and the other AFTER transfer to the GEP school.
30 yrs later … your grandchild can / will have the option to choose from either one of these primary schools to enter.
Then you will may have to rely on one of the report cards as evidence that your child has studied in that school before. Because the PSLE certificate will print out only the name of that school AFTER your child has been transfered to.
the one BEFORE transfer - you can only rely on report card as proof / evidence.
