a note to all parents here.

pls keep your child’s report card at all costs.
a) it is THAT important and THAT valuable / crucial, to yr grand children 30 yrs down the road later.
no amount of money can possibly get you back this report card, once you misplace it.
see, now my friend had to go through so much hassle and trouble … to approach MOE see if can dig out past 1970s records, got to approach RGPS school, as well. And whether can retrieve out or not, only time will tell. Can only try our best to retrieve !
all these hassle is not necessary … if only her parents had kept her report card carefully / properly.
b) second reason is … later, some parents here may have kids getting transfered to GEP schools later at Primary 4, if yr child is been offered by MOE to pursue GEP. This means your child will end up having 2 sets of report cards.
keep these 2 sets of reports cards carefully - the one BEFORE transfer to GEP school, and the other AFTER transfer to the GEP school.
30 yrs later … your grandchild can / will have the option to choose from either one of these primary schools to enter.
Then you will may have to rely on one of the report cards as evidence that your child has studied in that school before. Because the PSLE certificate will print out only the name of that school AFTER your child has been transfered to.
the one BEFORE transfer - you can only rely on report card as proof / evidence. -

so long as your child ever transfer primary school before - whether transfer to GEP centre, or transfer to a Non GEP school, your child will end up with - 2 diiferent set of report cards.
both set will come in very useful / handy for yr grandchildren, 30 yrs later.
as of today … it is already so tough, so difficult to enter good primary schools. The competition is so intense, so keen!
although today is March, i am sure many of us can alraedy feel that the HEAT is on ! July registration time for Primary 1 is another 4 months down the road … akan datang.
30 yrs later, can’t imagine the scenario at Primary 1 registration time for our grandchild … so keep report cards, at all costs ! -

We don’t know how long Phase 2A will stay but I feel that as long as the child has studied in a primary school, his/her children should be entitled to register in the school 30 years down the road. That is how a ‘legacy’ continues.
If you have ever studied in that school but lost report book/PSLE cert, can call MOE for a duplicate. -

My son can help his school to continue with legacy as he's in a co-ed school. So he can register his kids there regardless of sex. That is a precious gift that money cannot buy...provided his future wife agrees and stay around this area.Hi Janet
