Pat's Schoolhouse
-
We started her here when she was 22mths. Before that she was in some other infantcare which also had a childcare, but we were concerned by the high staff turnover rate there, so we finally pulled her out.
We initially placed her over at Pat's Katong, but somehow, it didn't work out. To put it simply, she couldn't adapt, so we got her transferred here. I must say, we like it here cos there is a core of good and dedicated teachers here...and also she has made lots of friends
Can you believe it, she looks forward to going to school ??
I can sympathise with your worry about the \"fall sick\" period, the wife and I look took leave last year till we literally ran out of leave, I even had to \"take MC\" to look after her. Fortunately, it's been much better this year *touch wood*. -
Yah...I must say the 1st year in childcare was really tough! But, touch wood, once you survive it... it is so much better now!
I agree, in relation to the quality of teachers here
...my son loves to go to school too!
And I find that he has improved so much in terms of his linguistic skills etc compared to being at home!
The only wish I have is that he could speak \"better\" Chinese...just felt that he now has this \"ang moh\" twang in his already very miserable spoken chinese! -
Just to add…I had thots to transfer him to Pat’s Katong after he "graduated" from childcare…for pre-school!
Do you plan for your dd to continue all the way through K2 at Pat’s? -
Barring any changes, we'll probably be letting her stay here all the way. Too stressful to look for a good childcare and then having to go thru the adaptation process again :?

Really grateful to have found this thread.
I am gonna enrol my kids into Pat’s Halifax.
But got one concern… abt fetching them from school.
Got to take school bus, but the bus fee is very expensive $200 one way per child… if i have two kids going there, that’s $400!
how do u all settle the transport? u pick ur own? -

Am not using school bus. Am the bus driver. Chose Halifax coz it's relatively close to town, therefore work place...drop b4 work, pick after work...

By the way, is the $200 charged due to one-way only (normally, it’s only a little increase to get 2-way) and also due to the distance from school?
