mambobb:
yes mambob, for nan chiau, i have to register for PV in october 2011 when they out the form online. depends on which school you intend to enrol your girl, you can call up the school to check and confirm their PV registration date.you mean we have to start to register PV for kid born in 2007? I am so confused now.
What are the criteria the sch is looking at for the PV? -
My experience is that you must prepare at least 2 years ahead of registration. Some schools will requires 40hrs whereas another maybe 60hrs.
The best part is that you don’t know what is individual school requirement but just submit the PV application form first. They will call you up if your profile happen to meet their needs. So just do your homework and submit the PV form or make enquiry to those schools that you are keen at least 2 year ahead!

Regarding PV application, call up school when child is 3…always better to be KS. I called when son was 3…person-in-charge said too early. Then nearing end of the year, I called again to enquire if can write in, I was told to do so in Jan, which I did. Basically have to follow up closely.

Hi Janet, you are right! It is better to be KS than be sorry later as PV policy may change form time to time.

When it comes to our kids' education, HAVE to be kiasu...policies keep changing and sometimes without our knowledge. I think we are not the only parents calling the schools to find out. -
MY girl is borned in 2007. So does it mean that I need to apply for PV already? I checked FMPS’s website, they didn’t stand whether can send in application for kids borned in 2007 but Henry Park is accepting PV for kids borned in 2007.
I don’t know which school to choose from as my HDB at Dawson road will only be done in 2016. Not sure whether they allow me to register my girl in the schools above. Can anyone advise me?
Thank you very much! -

you can register your child in any school in singapore. it is just a matter of whether your child can get a place in the school or not.
go thru the registration phases carefully and call the school you are keen in for further information. -
Usually you need to produce your IC, the rental or purchase agreement on the day of registration if you want to register your child under the within 1km category. Since your new unit will only be available on 2016, I am not sure what is the outcome.. As mentioned before, it is best to call up the school to find out.

J: For Registration using address of yet-to-be completed property
An original Sales and Purchase document is required if the address of a yet-to-be completed property is used for registration. A copy of this document is to be retained by the school. Parents using the yet-to-be completed property address for registering their child in a school of choice must move into the new property within two years of the child’s entry into Primary One. For this purpose, the date of commitment by the developer in T.O.P (Temporary Occupation Permit) must not be later than 31 Dec 2012.
So the rule of thumb is that your new home must TOP by the end of P2.
Since yours is a 2007 child, he will be in P1 in 2014. So the TOP must be Dec 2015.
