Hi Mummies,
I met an old friend and talked about kids. She told me she gets Maths assessment books with worked out answers at the back instead of just the answer itself. Saw a Maths assessment at Popular, with answers fully worked out including models…just A book itself and super thick. -
Hi Brenda,
Are the methods used in \"focus in math\"easier to comprehend than onsponge math?
Thanks

Hi Brenda,
Thanks again.
Have guided ds on this topic. Can see that ds din grasp the full concept, cos not all questions can do.Which guide you used to coach?
Did you happen to buy the series of math tricks, think its by raffles or something like that ?Think have a few series.
Anyone bought?
cheers
Leanne
Hi Leanne
I bought her the Focus on Maths and she learns the method from there.
Don't worry as they still have months for practice in this topic and I think they should be able to grasp the concept.
I did not buy those math tricks. However, I think can take a look if the questions are really different from the test paper then can consider lah. -

I did not make the comparison. Perhaps dd started with Focus on Maths before she moves over to onsponge. Her feedback is \"Speed\" in A*star booklet is more difficult to comprehend -

True. We have similar experinece when doing AStar booklet. I would say this is the tougher among all the 7 booklets. -
Hi Brenda,
Hopefully ds doing past year paper will not find it so challenging anymore...

Hi Leanne
I am not too worried as this is the exercise that helps them to understand and learn various methods to attempt to question.
I also tell dd to KIV and escalate the problem if she still cannot understand after her teacher teaches.
Cheers -
Hi Brenda,
Will speed topic be tested in the coming sa1?

100% will be tested since the exam is on 1st week of May and there will be sufficient time to cover this topic. Don't think any school want to take the risk to skip this critical topic to prelim.
Just my 2 cents thought
Best Regards -
