guess your child is in the upper primary? for my child, i made him practise over many questions. basically for primary levels the questions are rather similar or i would say repetitive. for eg. they usually ask for xxx prefers... to.... Both xxx and xxx are...
I bought the new assessment books from Just Education Publishers for my nieces. Whole book on synthesis and transformation. heard from my sister that the questions are quite well-structured.

Thanks for the info. I find is not easy to get them to do those esp kids in p6 are having loads of hw given. But I'll to get him to practice. Hopefully it helps.

Hi there! Most appropriate answer would be (1) since \"was\" refers to singular in this sentence.

In other words \"none\" = \"not one ...\"

If we were to use options (2), (3) & (4), it would be \"were\".

In other words \"none\" = \"not one ...\"

If we were to use options (2), (3) & (4), it would be \"were\".

Oh, just realised how muddle headed I was! It was supposed to be a Maths question, did not know why I typed this question and asked under English. I must be too sick to make this silly mistake. Sorry, it's really too embarrassing to ask such a silly question too. What a day for me! :oops:

Sounds like just one of the 'Rules' or something to learn by heart / hard ahhhh.... [/quote]haha! I love this! I totally overlooked this aspect. Guess my england isn't that powderful after all. Oh well...most rules have their exceptions as one would expect. This happens to be one of them. IT IS NOT WRONG to use singular if the writer wishes to direct the reader's attention to, perhaps the uniqueness, peculiarity, etc., of the one (Sally is extremely \" weird\" to the writer [stressed] as she is one of few friends...) in the opening clause. I would love to hear the teacher's reason.

Oh well, for our PSLE' ers, pls use plural for this sort of sentence structure then.
