I just call to Yew Tew and Unity school and being told that my house is within 1 to 2KM, balloting is needed for those stay within 1 KM for Yew Tew (seem like, i also do not have any chances) and for Unity, balloting is needed for those stay > 2KM.

In fact, my husband joined the RC last year May and being confirmed in Feb 09 (we are not so "ken cheong" that time to chase for the member’s confirmation) as we thought once we got the confirmation letter sure can get the priority registration in 2B. But last month, we being told that the priority letter was issued to those who had serve more than 1 year from the confirmation date only, that’s mean we are not eligible and our appeal letter being rejected. So a very big shock to us. As all along we never think about others school, just De La Salle.

The reason we choose De La Salle is because of the distance, we are a small family, both of us working and no helping hand. My girl is placed in nearby childcare (Limbang Shopping Centre), so we do not wish to rush here and there to fetch them after work and seem like De La Salle is the best choice.

We intend to meet MP next monday and ask him to help to appeal our RC status.

Can anybody advise, if i in Phase 2C and fail in the balloting for De La Salle, got any chance in Unity? since i stay 1 to 2KM away?

Dear All:


Our PA appealing was failed, however the MP had wrote a recommendation letter to De La Salle school and stated that we are active member but not meet the criteria of 1 year service and urge the school to let us register under 2B. However, the MP told us, the chances is very slim.

Anyway, my second best (Yew Tee) need balloting for those <1KM> 2KM, seem like go every where also need balloting, as well i stick on De La Salle (<1km) and pray hard.

Now my concern is, if let say i failed in balloting in 2C (de la salle), m i have a chance in Unity? can somebody help me to analyzed?

Yes, it is out of my expectation. Don't know still have chance for Unity, eventhough staying <1km. Not many vacancy left for 2C I guess. Sigh...need back up plan already. I have checked from the SLA website, Yew Tee Pri still within <1km, and it has more vacancies compare to Unity. Should have better chance, right? Help, just very worried that can't get a nearby primary school of choice for my girl.
I wonder why this year the total vacancies is less than previous years, how they determine no. of classes every year?

A few schools may also undergo revamping,
and some others are slowly adjusting to the
eventual single-session-school-hours. So,
must ensure enough space for all, right?

I must say schools within Bt Timah, Bt Panjang,
Choa Chu Kang and Yew Tee are all relatively
good, so no worries. Each school has their own
shining star. And even in neighbourhood schools
nowadays, every single child has potential to
shine..

Likewise for teachers. Each school will have these
precious gems. It is a matter of luck if you manage
to uncover one who may be teaching your child's
class. So, good luck all, yeah...

Yew Tee Pri has more vacancies left after Phase 1 is cos their intake is higher than Unity - they have 2 classes more than Unity.

My guess that Unity may be very popular this year is cos CCK Cres (680 onwards series of flats) is a relatively new estate and bulk of the applicants may come from this batch of residents.
