Is there a classroom teachin beforehand? I would think may not since everyone does diff worksheets

New concepts will need to be taught before the child can begin. Yes, after the concept is taught, the child will work on his/her own and the teacher will assist if they are stuck.

There is no classroom based teaching. Each child will be taught according to their own workbooks.

You can do this at home with your children easily and it gets more interesting if you replace pictures with real stuff e.g. beads, erasers, cut out papers etc. For 3-4 yo, your priority should be on the \"fun\" factor. No need to get too worried if they trace the line wrongly.

Does the lesson moves in parallel with the child's ability and capability or must cover a fixed # of materials before moving onto the next step? What is the ratio of the class?

Answer: According to the child ability. No need to do books that the child is already good in. No need to cover a fixed # of material to move to next level.

This I got to share. This centre actually provide free lessons for P5 and P6! Was there yesterday to enquire for my DD. Too bad, only P5 P6, my DD don;t qualify. Ok. the material looks good. Colourful as mentioned in this forum. Will need to reconsider because slot my busy DD can go is not available.

TIPS (3) FOR P3 - GUESS & CHECK


GUESS & CHECK questions typically are first introduced at P3. Challenges P3 students faced in Guess and Check questions are:
Challenge 1> Could not recognise the question is a G&C question
Challenge 2> Tedious as G&C questions require tabulation and numerous arithmetic computation.
\t 2a> Prone to error (careless mistakes)
\t 2b> Take up precious examination time

How to work around challenge 2?

Step 1: Solve the question using the 4 steps method (see attached pic).
Step 2: Tabulate the G&C table as required by the school using the answer derived from step 1.

How to work around challenge 1?

There is no short cut way around this. Students need to be exposed to more G&C questions to learn to recognise them. Usually G&C questions deals with legs and wheels, but these days G&C questions comes in many forms. See attached pic 2.

Limitation

This methodology will work only for P3. G&C questions for upper primary are very different.
