      Hi Janet,

Was the tutor good, as in having good track records of producing A/A star students ? I guess 40 for an hour is acceptable to me, but too bad, my current tutor insisted on 2x a week.

my dd and ds chinese tutor has maintain her fees since 3 yrs ago..Average is $40/hr for both my p3 and p6 kids. πŸ˜„

I feel so blessed and relieved my son's prev tutor has returned to teach him...asked her for favour to help out for 2 years until son finishes PSLE at least. She has also taught me to write the hanyu pinyin on flash cards to teach P1 daughter...like a, o, e, ui, ou for eg. My daughter memorizes the sequence in her textbook but once test her out of textbook, she doesn't remember.

Normally, are there any special materials that the tutor uses to teach Primary school chinese? I guess they just rely on the assessment books and past year exam papers ?

My Eldest Boy Told Me Something Amusing Today ....

He Works Part Time in the PC Show last weekend with one of the Vendors, and when he collects his pay this weekend, they have offered him a FULL Time Job!
But Caveat - Must Work FULL Time and Stop Studying!

My Boy Says, \"Such No Brainer .... Of Course I'll Want to Study NOW!\"
Guess I Don't Have to Worry About his studies Now, Right?
            Ha Ha ....
            πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

is difficult to get staff now, esp in sales...technical plenty but 99.9% FTs, nice paper qualification but mostly couldn't make it...
just wonder where all our local pple go to....IR? property agent?....

Really Don't understand these companies out there ....
My Boy is Only 17, and Just Finished his O-Level .... :?
In these days, O-Level is Practically = No Qualification,
Study Now is More Appropriate for Him ....
But at 2.2k per month, 5 day Work .... It is A Rather Tempting Carrot Dangling there ....
            Ha Ha ....
            πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Haha, the joke is that many diploma holders don't even earn that much in their first job. But you're right to resist the carrot. For most people, I guess it's usually the longer the wait, the better the erm, carrot! Unless your surname ends with Gates or Buffet :>.

So how much is mum going to tax that $2.2, 50%? Hehe.

                Hi hl124273,
I deleted contact of that prev tutor as I find she is not worth keeping...if she is good, I wouldn't get another tutor. She taught my kids for 2 years and I feel there should be some 'feelings' since we do chat a little and exchange little gifts during Teachers' Day/Children's Day. Yet she can't bring up the issue of increment face-to-face but using SMS.

Its term 2 starting today. I bet this will be a fast moving term with SA1 in just 2 months' time. My girl was quite relunctant to part with her 1 week holiday this morning. Which kid doesn't, right?

I think they are desperate. Your son did a right choice to resist it. 😎 The money can always be earned when he finishes his school in a few years' time. πŸ˜„

Oh yes, same here + yours truly.
Holidays are relaxed in a way I don't have to keep looking at the clock...also get to sleep later. Most prob, I'll knock out at about 3 or 4pm later. I would have to start planning SA1 time-table later this week too.
