Oh, that sounds also bad...for primary tution fee, $60/hr, quite high.
If the tutor is really care about children's learning and try to improve the result, we may accept the higher charges.

Sigh! now my gal who just finished her lesson with this current tutor told me she changed her mind and prefer this exiting tutor, and now told me that the teacher did explained everything to her, not just rote learning.

I wonder why she sings a diff tune now. Did askl her if the tutor said anything to her, she said no .. my gal said yesterday when she told me those stuffs as to whether tutor explained her mistakes or not, she was uunsure and \"forgot\" ..

Yeah, exactly. Do you know if it is the \"standard\" to give one month's notice to private tutors if you do not wish to continue their service ?
There is no black and white agreement unlike with tuition centers or enrichment clasese whereby you ack and sign during enrollment.
I didn't give her zero notice in that sense, I gave her one week's notice whch inlcude 4 lessons together for both gals.

Tell me about it . Preparation for EL/CL oral have to start now, followed by EL/CL compo. By the time the written papers are close, my stamina has run out and I'm really breathless. If hubby doesn't take over, I would be very stressed.

So must do the SA1 prep like running a marathon. Go slow and gradually increase the speed. Slow down a bit after Oral then gather speed again.

I think I am facing the same situation here whereby the current tutor appears to be too \"money face\" to me. I have spotted mistakes before that she did - that itself gave me doubts .. however, my colleague's kid did well under her (but no longer with her) able to score very well in Chinese given non chinese background. As for the new tutor, I do not know anyone who was taught by her, but the comfort feeling is there.
Existing tutor has 40-50 students, new tutor has only 20+ students and only teach a few pri school, no P2 students

On the other hand, if the tutor has more experience and has reasons for higher charges, this tutor must not be found in the market.

The current tutor commented that my gal missed lessons for 2 weeks in last Dec holidays and that was crucial for revision .. she brought this up when she said my gal forgot alot of P1 words. Again, to me, it implies that she could be thinking for herself (money) .. cos I remembered in June last yr, she herself took a 2 weeks break back to China too..

Yesterday my dd complain that it is not fair that P1 do not have SA1 and SA2. I told her too bad ... she missed it by 1 year


Ironically, she also miss the new school premise as well .. by one year

So for those P2 above that gotten trophies in P1, I guess the P1 trophies are very \"valuable\" now. They are now officially under the \"vintage collector's edition\"

Aiyo, those who have the chance to collect the trophies in the past years are the lucky ones, now no hope for the new P1s liow....
