[You can't. The capacity is 1 pound. If you overload the pan, the contents may spill out and damage your machine.

The size of the loaf is the same, whether you slice 8 slices, 10 slices or 12 slices. Just a matter of thickness of each slice. The loaf is slightly smaller than a Gardenia loaf.

Thanks Jtoh.. So I am more and less decided to get a z breadmaker... although it is smaller, but I googled out the reviews are very good compare with K breadmaker. Btw, somewhere in this thread, I read that the pan of the Z breadmaker will leak if wash not correctly or something like that. How to take care the pan in order to prevent the leaking?

I haven't experienced it. The pan is a solid piece of teflon-coated material and at the bottom there's an indent for you to screw your kneading blade into. So long as you clean it well after each use, there shouldn't be any problems. And as it's teflon-coated, it's rather easy to wash.

Aha, so just wash the pan carefully. I just read recipe for white bread. How to add the butter? Do we need to melt the butter first? Or can just add it as a lump when we take it out of fridgee? Can we substitute the butter with olive oil or cooking oil?

Hi there, The z breadmaker can cut up to 11 to 12 slices of bread, depending on the thickness. 😄

Hi autumnbronze, you are really good to be able to cut up to 12 slices! I could only get 8 or 9 slices at most! :celebrate:

            :imanisland: Happy Mama,

I have no choice. My helper loves the homemade bread and sometimes she has it for breakfast AND tea, so must maximize. 😛 😉 :D[/quote]That's a smart move. 😉 😉

I think ksi uses olive oil instead of butter.

Not necessary to melt butter. I usually cut the lump of butter into 4 pieces and spread ‘dump’ them in.

Schweppes mentioned that you can get those scs brand butter that comes in small pkts, and use one which is equivalent to the amt you need to add in the bread mixture.

I don’t melt my butter too. Just cut the correct amount and dump into the machine according to the sequence.

Don’t melt your butter. It should be soft. I sometimes forget to take my butter out of the fridge early and it’s still hard but it’s okay. Just cut the butter into smaller pieces and place it all around the pan.

I don't even cut my butter. Just use the spoon that came with the Z machine to scoop out the butter direct from the fridge.. but the bad thing about this way is... my butter looks \"deformed\". 😉 😉

No one will know if your butter was deformed once it's baked.

I think she meant the butter that is left in the tub, not the butter that has been scooped into the breadmachine.
