hi parents,

would like to know if any of your child were being punished by staying back during recess?

Ds forgot to return some worksheets yesterday. Today when we returned them today, he mentioned teacher dun allow him to go recess, and cannot eat. He din want me to feedback to Principal cos he is afraid of being marked by teacher..

Would like to hear Parents' views on this.
Dd has not been made to stay behind before but i am all in agreement for her to bear the consequences if she does not hand in her homework. Honestly with so many restriction to protect the students nowadays, I feel teachers are not left with much choices on how to punish the students.

It happens; and it has happened to my children. Personally, Iwouldn’t jump on the issue too much. I would normally check with my children when the worksheet was given out, and when they are due to the teacher. If the fault lies with children, they deserve it.

However, if you feel strongly about it, I would suggest you find out more from the teacher or raise your concern with her before bringing it up to the principal.

Ds' whole class always kena punished by their form teacher to stay back awhile during recess. Duration depends on how long they take to settle down for his class in the beginning. By the time, they reach canteen, the Q at some stalls r too long so they have to buy from the less popular stalls.

If ur DS has a gastric problem or rely on recess for a heavy meal, then it's best to let the teacher know not to cancel his recess. Otherwise, I guess it's ok to skip once a while since it's a light punishment.

As the schl finishes at 6pm on wed, does the centre temp help to pcik them up? No

            Thanks :D
Hi Jessica,
Sch finishes at 6.30pm everyday this year so no more early Wed to worry. 🙂

              Thanks for all your replies.

Personally am ok if she removes the rewards & all (giving them the due punishment), but more worried abt Ds as he is not a good eater. moreover lunch at student care is 11+, so not sure if forsaking recess is advisable…

                Thanks :D
The fee has been revised to $340 starting Jan 11. Jun/Dec Holiday will be $50 more, that is, $$390. But still I think it's worth it.

Hi, I read somewhere in this forum that student can actually use a photocopy of the student card to borrow books from school’s library. Is it still valid? I don’t want my P1 son to bring and damage/lost the card which he just received. Some more there’s $ inside. Tks!

Yes, in fact they were encouraged to do so by a teacher who spoke abt it during assembly last term.
