how to slim down

kwokwc:
How does it taste?I am taking a powder drink that is make up of whole grains, wheats, fruits and vege - Lacto Fiber. The main purpose is to give fiber to our body so that is cleanse our digestive system.
If taken 1/2 hour before food, it does give you the filling feeling so that you won't eat as much. To a certain extend, it has help me curb my eating. So now for my dinner, I have cut down by 1/2 on my rice, taking more vege and protein. Not sure if you will be interested in this. Since it is made from natural ingredient, it is more safe than those pills. I am still breastfeeding and this drink is safe for pregnant and breastfeeding mum too.
I tried one of such fibre products and the taste is yucky.
Felt like I'm drinking slime mixed with hay.
Only took 2 times and that's it.
The pack is still in my office drawers. -

I find the taste alright. You can add with apple juice or orange juice to enjoy the taste more. Most important CANNOT mix with hot water.

It does have the chlorophyll smell, so there are pp who don't like it. It has a slight sweet taste too. I must say, the 1st 2 try, I don't really like it, but I think it is still acceptable. Now, I am into my 2nd bottle, I have totally accept the taste already. -
If you really need some pills to kick start your diet, go to a your doctor.
All these meal replacements, appetite suppressants and fibre drinks, etc should only for short term use.
For longer term results, unfortunately, no 2 ways about it, lifestyle changes need to be made. Exercise and watch not only what you eat but when you eat.
Turn your eating timetable around, I am sure you will see results. Go high on protein in the morning, and have some carbo to fill you up for lunch and for dinner, fruits and vege. -

Agree with what you say, for long term result, must do a lifestyle change. However, sometimes, taking meal replacements, appetite suppressants and fibre drinks, etc, do help to lose some weight. And once there is weight loss, pp will be more determined to continue to look slim so can control better. I know of people who tell me frankly that they will definitely no be able to do a lifestyle change, so don't bother to ask them to take any pills or drinks or whatsoever. If you really need some pills to kick start your diet, go to a your doctor.

Sometimes, pp just need a bit more encouragement with using such products to continue looking good.

Yah that is why I say short term use only and to kick start your diet or weight loss programme.
By the way appetite suppressants do not only suppress your appetite for food but in other stuff as well. DH was on some appetite suppressants for a while and it suppresses everything, really, everything. Haha. Thought it was just DH but a check with some friends who were on the some suppressant or other said the same thing. Some even have mood swings. -
Oh, lucky for me, while taking the lacto fiber, I feel full only, so I just eat less. Didn't suppress everything. *whew*
My youngest girl who is 2 yr+ is very happy since I start taking the lacto fiber. See, I am still breastfeeding her now. Since she is 2, the milk supply drop a lot. I think sometimes she finds that it is too little. Not sure why, since I start taking lacto fiber, she enjoys breastfeeding more and I do find the supply more too. Maybe like a lot of other lactating mum who takes lacto fiber, their testimonials are having better quality breastmilk. -
Daily exercise is the best way for reducing the weights..like swimming, and walking is the best exercise can do from our house...

24hr-mum:
any mummies successfully slimmed down with whatever mthd? can share?
You want the lazy way?
I dunno if it's considered a successful weight loss.
But for those who have seen me post pregnancy,
they were like :!: ... \"You've lost so much weight!\"
I suppose it's easiest to lose the fats and water
after childbirth.
But maintaining it is usually
the problematic case bah.. -
I lost 5kg by following the south beach diet, no increase in exercise, over 3 months. After that, I stopped and modified to reduced refine carbo & increase exercise. My weight went up 2kg but I feel more toned & energetic. Do a google, lots of info on net about SBD.

Many swear by breastfeeding but not in my case.
Many also said doing sit ups will reduce tummy fats/slim down but this is so wrong! Sit ups helps to build up the muscle so instead of 'slicing away those flabby meats', you get a 'hard' (toned) tummy instead. So, do you think you will look slimmer?
The best way to slim down healthily and safely is through sensible and healthy diet, brisk walking, climbing the stairs instead of taking the lift and swimming. These sure work if you are determined enough.
