      Yup...this is THE ONE.
Now, I'm sick, really sick of seeing assessment books.

      Hi Janet,
Yes, Thats why every time I see this kind of posts I don't really answer them. I just read them for knowledge. Now I don go to popular as well.

Now I am looking at Coach bags to destress...hahaha[/quote]I remember I read this somewhere.... Shopping is pleasurable, a rare treat. It feels satisfying to fulfill a nonnecessary desire - to indulge, even if it's just once in a while. 😎

Just hinted to hubby that I am 39 only once πŸ˜‰

          Hi Champion,

We were at IMM for dinner last night...don't know why my feet carried me to Popular 😒 Hubby was queuing at Giant to pay for grocery and he called me asking where I was. Then he told me, 'Time to go'. I guai1 guai1 left the store. HaHaHa. Somehow I need some form of control like that.
          Hi Janet,
Haha.. Next time we must wear a sensor on us to prevent us from entering Popular 😒

Somehow now I prefer IMM Popular over JP Popular

Maybe we have to wear a sensor which will prevent us from stepping into Popular, but must better sure we don't get electrocuted...yes, I like IMM Popular and know the layout pretty well too.

Hahahaha...guess we all as parent always put our children's academic progress above all other things :grphug:

Went with DD1 for a walk after school's Meet The Parents Session and AGAIN end up in Popular. She requested to buy some highlighters, poster colours, etc..etc....then we \"walked\" to the Assessment books section ...I just stood there browsing through those books and suddenly my DD1 passed me a book! She said,\" I need to buy this because my Listening Compre & Oral is coming!\"

Sooooooooooooooooo...ends up buy the following :clubmyself:

                    HI Champion,

I saw that book you posted...in fact, there is also Grammar P1/2 and some other titles for P3 prominently displayed.
Fortunately my gal is not going to P3 just yet, or else KS mummy here sure end up buying all of them.

                      Hi plum-cake, champion, janet_lee88, sleepy

Saw you ladies talking about having difficulty not stepping into Popular and not going out empty handed......I know how to 'cure' it πŸ˜‰

First, make sure you go to the next 2 Popular BookFair at Expo/Suntec, grab a lot of things - GRAB GRAB GRAB. As long as it looks OK, take take. Remember to be kiasu and buy 2-3 levels up. Next head back to Popular outlets while the discount sill on to get whatever looks good but not found at bookfair.

After the above, I'm sure you'll overwhelmed with too many assessment and then start to want to give away or sell off some (my kids happily ask me to sell everything). You'll probably REALLY start to SERIOUSLY ask yourself, do I need another assessment book . You'll also probably start to psycho yourself that you have ENOUGH at home....no need to browse anymore for now. ONCE you achieve this level, you will start wanting to shop at other places other than Popular

Ha ha....that's why you see me suddenly active in the Trading Post. But I am serious, after a few spurging at previous bookfairs, I'm now having phobia and didn't go to most recent 2 bookfair. What a relief πŸ™

I must admit, the first bookfair I went was damaging (kid was P2).....cos' first time so just grab. Believed in drilling plus kid was young, lotsa time to drill so just buy and buy. Now, no time & too tired to drill, so more selective.

                      Cheers πŸ™‚

 I know what you mean, I saw many parents pilling assessment books to the rim of the trolley at every popular fair. I'm always feeling very 佩服 that they manage to convince their kids to do so many

Knowing my dd, I know I won't have much success. My dd is not into assessment books.

However, I still selectively buy a few every now & then (kiasu mama πŸ˜‰ ) so that I can coax her to practice whenever I identify weaker areas. Sometimes there are notes inside assessment books, can use as reference. Then the rest of the empty pages I keep for my younger one to conquer. At least won't feel so heartache even though left so many empty pages.

I only bought one Chinese assessment book for dd beginning of this year. But that book is incomplete, don't have any 词ε₯重组section le. Have to source for a 2nd one few days ago that contains that section. I guess quite impossible to rely on only one assessment book.

 Maybe that's how the publishers managed to earn our money. Instead of publishing one book, they split the content into 6 books
