I wonder did those top students score as well for Science as compared to the other 3 subjects...? πŸ‘…

Haha, I know i sound mean, but PH's science results are nowhere near spectacular leh.. 😐 for other subjects, I agree PH's done very well.. but how to attribute 'top students' to this subject?!

Just happens to Browse thru PH Web Site ....
PH Sc Results is Indeed Not as Good as the Other 3 Subj in PSLE 2010.

      15.8% A*, 51% A = 66.9% (A* + A) > National Avg 43.2%
      Now Is that Good? :?

Last SA2, my girl was confused with one of the questions. She spent time in the public library to read books related to it and posed her research to her Science tr over email. A day later, HOD Sci called my girl at home. The first question was, \"You did so much just for that 1 mark?\" I was on the other end of a connected phone. That, certainly did not impress on me as a professional educator. 😐

Hello everyone, just to update what is happening to my dd in her school. Well, it is one project after another project besides never ending list of school homework. Now I know why some parents don't send their kid to GEP even though selected. The programme seem to like to give them project 'big' one 'small' one for EL,SS & Sci. So parents interested in GEP, must be prepare to hear the word PROJECT (meeting).

Sounds Like Poly / University Study Style Already ....
            πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

You are so right! The problem they have to depend on parents to shuffle them to their friend's house to do the project. Not indept enough. Really tough for parents. Worse the deadline is so tight, really like working world. :x No wonder someone comment that they can do well in JC, well train so young and after 3 yrs + of practice, why not?

                Inside Green?
                Like the Incredible Hulk Green?
Imagining It Makes Me :faint: Already ....
Don't faint, it's very cool greenish colour, like marble. Outside black, inside all green.

Maybe it's to remind ds that if he doesn't count, old papa will be angri like the Hulk. πŸ˜“

This is so typical metality of certain school educator/teacher in Singapore Ed system. He think student is so hardup for that one mark, very narrow-minded way of thinking. Never think of learning/sharing knowledge. That why std in S'pore is not interested in asking question and hence not encourage to be creative and proactive. And then the ed sys keeps promoting 'Thinker today and leader tomorrow', should say this to teacher.

Every mark is crucial in Science. Since PH is so into using PSLE standard to mark, then as parents we would want to know how the breakdown comes about. It's not so much for marks but also understanding.
Certainly the mentality and tone needs to be worked on.

When we argued about the questions, the first thing came to the teacher's mind is \"oh, they want the marks\". πŸ˜›
