HUH?? You mean Aitong ballot within 1km?? Gosh.. So what other school will you guys recommend around my area???

I heard from a friend that Guangyang Pri got the Good Progress school
(or something along this line) award. What does it mean? In one of the post, i also notice that one parent mentioned that GYPS has alot of international students, is it a bad thing?

Oh gosh. need your advise please
For moe masterplan of awards, see here http://www.moe.gov.sg/media/press/2010/09/masterplan-of-awards-2010.php.

Good progress award is given to individuals, not schools if i m not wrong.

you are 2km outside both AT and KC. What area are you staying in? It's hard to pinpoint.

As mentioned earlier, there are usually many vacancies left in GYPS for int'l students because generally GYPS is not popular amongst locals. But to be fair, you'll have to go to the sch and take a look for yourself before coming to any decision / conclusion. Not just based on KSP forum alone.

Your child is gal or boy? Which of tpy? I'm in tpy too. 😄

Tpy still got Pei Chun, Kheng Cheng, IJ and Marymount, besides First Tpy.

Bishan area probably only Guangyang left since since you are prob too far from the other 3 - CHS, ATS and KC.

mine is a Girl!!! What bout yours? 😄

            Marymount? Is it good?

Will Kheng Cheng be difficult to get in?

I just heard from a family friend that Toa Payoh children will want to get into Kheng Cheng and Pei Chun, While Bishan children will want to get into Kuo Chuan, Cath High and Aitong.

Sigh.. This is really stressing me out man!! 🙏

My 3rd one is dd. But she’s only 3 now so registration got 3 years more.

It all depends on what type of environment you prefer your child to get in. Gal is not so bad lah. Can try to put in almost any school in Tpy.

WOW!! But at least you dont need to worry where your dd goes cos your 1st and 2nd would have secured some good seats for you?

I dont want the child to be in a competitive environment yet enough to 'push' the child forward and get into a good secondary school eventually.

How old is your number 1 and 2 now? Salute you, handling 3! 😓

Ds1 is 13 and ds2 is 9. No special place for dd cos both boys in boys’ sch. At that time, no dd yet so never consider mixed sch.

Then maybe you might want to try IJ or Marymount. Should be ok. IJ has affiliation to sec sch but not Marymount.

if you don't want too competitive environment, then you should not look at the popular schs. They are highly competitive inside.

I think pushing the child depends very much on the parents. Your child can be a competitive sch and not feel the stress. Or she can be in a less competitive sch and always feeling stressed up. Teach her to have a balanced view.

yea yea… I am also reconsidering my choices as i read up from the forum here.

Oh no, dd will likely go which school if you have to choose??

Thank Goodness, came in early to check out on primary schools.

Sigh… Tough decision in sending the child into which Primary school.

By that time, then see how. Most likely IJ, if not probably Marymount or Canossa Convent. Or else maybe get MIL to go MOE to "soompah" and try for St Marg’s.

But anyway, 95% should be girl’s sch.

Always got stupid plan in my head.

                        Normal route:
Plan A: IJ tpy. Fail, try Pei Chun. Fail, go Canossa Convent

                        Make Statutory declaration route:
Plan B: IJ OLGS, Watch St Marg’s. If got space, register, if not, stay at OLGC.

Plan 😄 Go back to alma mater, but in Tampines!! Too far.

Anyway, if you or your dh is ex-pupil of a primary school, you will get priority registration. No need to ballot typically.
