Certainly the mentality and tone needs to be worked on.
Oh My Gal Has Long Given up on Him already. In fact She Study on her Own.
As to the Mentality and Tone - Definitely Need Major Surgery and Updating .... πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

Oh yes, I found the reply reflects the narrow-mindedness of the person. Sounded defensive to me then too. Well, mine did this to satisfy her inquisitive mind, that 1 mark was immaterial to her. Thankfully, my girl was not intimidated or discouraged to discontinue such persistence in pursuing knowledge.
Kids Nowadays R rather Discerning, Knows when NOT to Listen to Immaterial Staff like that.
Kudos to your Gal!

which is why I felt that it's rather 'wrong' for him to credit his 'learn everything' policy to producing top students in PH.. πŸ˜›

Maybe MOE just simply needs better science teachers/ methods throughout... πŸ˜›

You are so right! The problem they have to depend on parents to shuffle them to their friend's house to do the project. Not indept enough. Really tough for parents. Worse the deadline is so tight, really like working world. :x No wonder someone comment that they can do well in JC, well train so young and after 3 yrs + of practice, why not?

Thought they inform the parents of the \"coming pressure\".
I believe they are trying to stretch the kids. After 1-2 term, they will get the hang of it .. I believe.
Well, not so, I think they are 'stretching' the parents too! I hope can survive to the end of the yr. πŸ™

Maybe U Can Add Another 4 yrs + More, For Surely ALL these GEP Students will End up in one of those IP, IB Course ....
And More Project + Works ....

So they Should Be Super-Ready for JCs ....
πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰
Didn't want to say 7+ yrs, too frightening to think about it. How to 'tahan'! I am actually prepared to let my dd take the mainstream route if she don't enjoy the pg anymore. Learn to study in a less 'stressful' way, I think.

How I wish I had a 7-footer at home, then I can blow the house down & ds can wake up the neighbourhood!

Too bad my apt too small and pocket too shallow. I actually harbour this morbid idea that ds can play both Nocturne & Fantasie Impromptu for me when I'm on my last breath ..... then I can die a happy man ....... guess I'm too much of a Chopin fan.

Thanks, Mrsbongz & Funx3!

Sometimes, I cannot help but to feel that there are so many educators out there whom we have to entrust our little ones into their care to impart tools and knowledge, yet not only they are not doing enough, instead they attempt to kill the zealous kids' enthusiasm in learning. Tsk tsk tsk... 😐 :x

Thankfully, thankfully, the passionate ones outnumbered these, or rather, mine is very blessed to have mostly great ones who are dedicated to nurture such hungry minds.

Only one word can be used to describe the Sci HOD - Undependable.

For ds's music training, I've already let go of lots of $$$$$. I got him a custom-made german piano (with his name engraved on it) and had to wait for 7 mths for it to be delivered. The inside of the piano is green in colour (my fav colour), cool rite? πŸ˜‰
almost fall off chair....costs a bomb yaa ... πŸ˜‰
