Arise Kindergarten
-
I have sent a registration form for my kid’s next year nursery. I am very concerned about their teaching of moral value during bible studies. I am concern if the teachers will do a good job in this aspect. Any advise/opinion?

Hi,
Both my kids graduated from Arise Kindergarten…younger one just finished K2 last year.
Arise uses a learn-thru-play approach. Enrolment has definitely increased over the past 4 years and kids are on wait list for morning session. Guess the reason is bcos there are more residential estates around here over the years.
There is EL spelling for K2 from Term 2 onwards. 听写 in the form of character and hanyu pinyin is rather challenging too, to prepare the K2s for P1. There is much emphasis on reading too. -

Thank you for sharing. What about the character development? Are the teachers good at teaching moral/values to the kids? -
Arise is a Christian kindy...morale values wise, I would say it's not bad. Academic work is getting challenging too, even at K1. Be prepared to see eye-opening CL spelling at K2.

Most of the kids attending Arise usually go to pei Hwa, nan hua, MGS, nanyang...and as such principal raised standard to make sure kids can fit into the schools. CL spelling scared me last year.janet_lee88:

If the CL foundation is built too late, the kid may find it difficult (chinese characters having more strokes whatsover) and they may just hate the subject totally. This is happening to many kids of Eng speaking families.Jworld:

I still think it’s better for child to attend a class just for hanyu pinyin. Having a strong foundation is crucial for first 2 terms.

I guess some schools dun start with that cuz they are afraid that the kids may get too reliant on hanyu pinyin and not too interested in learning the strokes later on. -
hi,parents! anyone can give some feedback on Arise kindy??
my son has a place at another kindy already…but Arise just called me to offer us 2nd session, but I prefer morning session due to my work arrangement.
but I prefer Arise curriculum, coz the impression I have is that it has learn through play concepts, but at same time also do ‘train’ kids appropriately & sufficiently, at K2, & kids are quite well-prepared for P1?
Am I right?
hope to hear valuable feedback from parents, so that I can make a better decision on whether I should switch!! thanks in advance!!
