Wah all of you gunning for RMPS in P2C. For the convenience of being near to the school the next 6 years, risk tolerance is going up.

Hi All,Hi qms
base on what we est so far...
if today (121- 40 ) = 81
P2B - left 41
P2C - left 40
According to the sch - PV already abt 20
Therefore P2B 41 - 20 = 21
this 21 bal will add to P2C 40 (21+40 = 61)
Est by P2C will be 60 left right??
I'm just wondering how many applicatant staying within 1km will apply for RM??
I just contacted RMPS where I’m among the 30 PV’s. Now I also quite worried how is my chance in getting in at Phase 2B.
Assuming that today hit 40. Therefore 121-40= 81.
Based on yesterday registration of 34, now Radin Mas had reach about 64% take up rate.
Phase 2B = 40 (30 PV, if there are 11 Community Leaders come in then ballot)
Phase 2C = 41
Assuming zero Community leaders come in then Phase 2C would have about = 51 places. Wow very likely RM would turn down those stay more than 1Km not to apply.

Hi Raynreg!
Well, at least our consideration is the distance and convenience to the school, not solely based on the school's past performance. Don't know whether it's a blessing or \"curse\" to be near a good school. :? -

Hi Titank!
I guess you need to monitor yourself. However, you still have RVPS, where you do not need to go through balloting. -

Think have to monitor see what is today registration at RMPS. Yes I still have RVPS to fall back on where now take up rate estimate 46% based on yesterday registration.
QMS, Rayeng, Chipmunks,
Are you all within 1Km of RMPS? Wish you all good luck too. -
My DD is starting P1 next year. We are living in Bukit Merah (less than 1 km to Kellock and <2Km to RM) but will be sending her to St Margaret’s instead. Was checking the registration from the MOE website. It seemed that the take-up is quite low so far.
DD is quite competitive and self-motivated by nature (she wanted to go to school even though she had a fever last night (but which went away this morn) because there was spelling today)
The reason why DH and I chose St Margaret’s is because we wanted a christian school for her and one in which the focus is more on character building.
Am wondering if we had made a right choice. Hence would like to hear the feedback from parents whose kids are attending St Margaret’s or who attended the school before. -
Ponyo,
St Margaret Pri is quite remote of thier location?Does not seem to have any SBS buses travel right into the school doorstep? CHIJ seem is a good choice as it is near to your area.
St Margaret have affiliation to Sec school so can have some discount PSLE points to go to a secondary school. Notice SMPS all along have low intake registration as located among the Central region.
Just my 1 cents worth of thought. -
you're right. The nearest bus stop is the stop at selegie. Then got to walk all the way in. Will have to take school bus or DH will have to drive her to school in the mornings.
I am just wondering if the school culture is still so focussed on character building. DH's niece is attending IJ. Seemed that the school has a new principal and is more academic focused than the previous one.
I want my kid to really enjoy learning as it is a lifelong journey and not to see it as a process of passing exams. In that respect, I am not that much of a blue-blooded KS parent
Don't know if things have changed in St Margaret's. -
If DH able to ferry in & out then SMPS is not an issue. Normally I would worried is that they need to stay back for remedial or ECA & it would be a headache where no school bus.
Then have to arrange someone to pick up in which would be extremely difficult for working parents. -

there's a student care in the school which some students wait for the fixed timing school buses. otherwise there's a long stairs which leads down to plaza sing where there's bus or mrtIf DH able to ferry in & out then SMPS is not an issue.
