Creative writing books.... any recommendations?
Sleepy,
I have been to Popular bookshop for 3 days this week looking at EL Creative Writing book but have not bought any. I am looking at specific picture composition guide book (not guide books that teach how to write, but model picture compo with good vocab) and so far is only satisfied with Primary 3 Zoom In Vocabulary For Creative Writing; my only complain is that it is too thick and quite limited picture compo choices. Some of the other publisher's model essays are either without pictures or not categorized according to topics. I personally find SAP Compo not creative enough. I also cannot stand unclear or drawings that are not nice.
In general, I am still sourcing for the right one!

Master oral book[/quote]
No time to go through it yet...prob 2night if time permits, as I need to coach daughter in her CL spelling.
Before I bought the Master Oral, I have 'A Guide To English Oral Skills (For Advanced Level)'. The explainations for Pic description is in paragraph form but son and I have to find the picture which paragraph is describing...for eg the family of 4 sitting in front of the drinks stall.
For Master Oral, the entire picture is 'broken' up into several pages and enlarged with descriptions below, so you know what is being mentioned. Hope my explaination is clear

Hi Mummies,
I saw ‘Excel in Comprehension’ (EPH) yesterday. The answers at the back explains to students what the questions are about and provides the quote from the passage to support the answer. Will get it when son finishes his ‘Conquer Comprehension’. -

In your own opinion - how do you rate it as compares with \"Success in Comprehension\" by Marshall? -
Champion:
Comprehension at P5 is tougher...questions are wide like ,'explain why', 'support your answer from the passage' kind of questions...answers can be found in 2 different paragraphs. I've yet to go through 'Success in Comprehension' but I feel that Conquer Comprehension is insufficient in preparing my son for CA/SA OE passages.

Although Conquer Comprehension is split into basic, intermediate and advance, the level of difficulty in 'advance' section still cannot match passages from Catholic High, Rosyth and ACS in SA1 past year.
