Actually, I saw one person do that before many years ago on a bus. She was a WOMAN!! My lunch almost came back up!!

Totally agreed. It is okay to carry heavy stuff and groceries, but a ladies puny handbag ??? I am glad DW never even considered that in the past and present ( and future hopefully ). She said it belittles the guy AND degrades the girl who asked him to do it.

But when DS and DD were toddlers and we go out, all the baby stuff, of course I do not expect her to carry. I will do that.....BUT I will put all inside a nice haversack, not a kiddy baby bag with sling...euuuuu. :oops:

For school bags, I will help DS with his bag till P3, after P4 he grows up and start training, LOL. DD a bit different, you cannot expect to see a man walk empty handed while his little daughter carry a heavy sch bag, right ? Likewise, my DS does not expect mum to carry for him also, so malu when his frens see it

That's why when parents see teachers not feeding their little ones or not helping their little ones to put on their shoes, etc, they have to read the situation with an open mind. Teachers were trained to let kids do their own things whenever possible and minimise help to encourage independence. It's much easier to just feed the kids and put on the shoes for them than to see them feed themselves till all places full of food bits and whatever...

Little ones start their young lives mostly with a solid concept of \"I can! I can!\" but under the protective wings of some parents, this concept gradually turns into \"I can't...I can't...\"

Let kids however young to do their own things ...it build a
multitude of experiences and resiliency no teacher or books can teach ....

Cannot agreed more what is said here .We need a Nation of Resilient kids who grow into resposible adults and this start with Parents the child first teacher . :celebrate:
