Academic Support Programme? Is it remedial? What time? May I know how the teacher inform you? Via Pupil's diary or memo?
Sorry I have totally no clue about this but heaps of questions... -

AS is remedial for the weaker students. The teachers will usu go through the concepts and give them extra worksheets to do. Useful for the kids as it's very important to have a good foundation, treat it as free tuition

Ya such sessions are good to reinforce basic concepts… only thing is if my girl needs to go, I have to drive her to school in the morning… a bit tough for working mummies…

My girl has just recieved her student pass!! but OMG, her hair was so so so messy in the photograph!!! There were some strands of hair blocking her face and yet they still went ahead to take a photo shot of her!! Aiyo…
Anyway, she’s excited about the student pass. And for mummies and daddies with M1, can use the student pass to apply for unlimited SMSes and MMSes… -

Teacher wrote in diary that the test is on picture description, picture provided by school. She did not say whether the picture is a book cover -- i will ask her haha. Maybe she will think kiasu parent. But what to do? Nowadays different from the past.
Will update again!
Hi bboomer, thanks for the update !
Oh dear, let's hope the children can do well for Chinese. My DS said the paper is ok only.
Nowadays, chinese is not easy for kids.
My child's Chinese teacher is very strict. His MA1 for Chinese had the answer written correctly but got one mark deducted bcos he wrote the first alphabet of the hanyupinyin slightly \"higher\" than the rest. If not, he could hv scored full.

[/quote]Apparently the children are reminded not to write capital letters when dealing with hanyu pinyin... my girl's Chinese teacher deducted a mark for this only mistake too...

Chinese teachers in PC are very strict with marking, have to make every stroke very clear, whether it’s writing chinese characters or pinyin.

Cultivating good habits is essentail... my girl's handwriting is quite untidy... -
