      My ds likes mindmapping as he read Tony Buzan Mind Mapping for kids on his own and practise mindmapping for EL compo.

      @Peony, yes they are. Also used in Janet's ds's school.
      Thanks, pixiedust!

      Sorry if out of point from this thread, but could you share how he uses mind maps for English? Thanks!

        Hi champion,

        I just saw these wonderful concept maps in Science Explorer by ace publication...from P3-P6. Am usually not one who like this map thing but I find the concept map and misconception facts helpful...know you don't plan to step into popular. You can check it out in June.

        Hi Janet,
        is this sold in Popular?

        This 'Science Explorer' is sold in Popular...$10.40. Better to get in June/Dec when there is 20% discount. My son's teacher ordered for them...so it was $8.
        That concept map is quite interesting esp if there is no time or maybe the day b4 exam...go through it. The misconception vs facts are the ones I would get him to read.

          @Leanne,

          I bought the P5 booklets (as shown by Janet) and also the P4 (for revision) but not the P6(yet).

          There is another set without concept maps but for inter-topic process skils. I haven't really checked those in details. My fear is no time to cover all the questions.

          The Popular I go to provide sample sets for browsing so check those or ask the staff to let you open the booklets to have a look first before you decide if you want to buy.

          @Peony,

          Mainly for brain-storming of ideas for EL compo. eg. Intro -- who, where, when then draw the branches from who.... etc. Mind-mapping is just a form of presentation, perhaps many other children can visualise and organise in their mind already. My ds is not strong in languages so it helps him to get some marks for contents - at least cover the 5W1H for completeness.

                  Bettles \"logo\" is actually by fairfield book publisher.There are a few assessment books under them, u may check it out in popular.

                  Hi All,
                  Need your expertise in this area πŸ˜„

                  The above image is taken from DD1's class mini-test sample. Find the questions are quite challenging and am just wondering which assessment book did the teacher \"borrow\" the questions from? The only clue that I can find is at the top right hand corner there is a beetle. [You may click on the image to see a clearer pic]

                  Anyone has any clues which publisher's assessment book is this? Need your help urgently and in order not to get into the \"infringement of copyright\" scenario, I will delete this post by Monday (4-4-2011) morning πŸ˜‰
