      Hello All,

Wondering did you receive the letter regarding the above? Quoting from the letter, \"In line with our school's Strategic Thrust of \"Collaborating with Partners\", our school will be organising the 'Parents' Seminar' on 16 April from 8.30am - 12.00 noon.\"

      P1 & 2: 8.30am - 10am: English Language - Developing Your Child's Interest and Ability in Reading

P1 & 2: 10.30am - 12.00noon: Mathematics - Learning Maths through Games and Model Drawing as an approach to Problem Solving

P3 & 4: 8.30am - 10am - Science: Knowing Pri Science and helping your child to learn Science.

Above are just some of the topics covered...But this time round I am unable to make it :(.....I have job assignment and need to be back office on that Saturday 😒...I was looking forward to this seminar when in the last letter, the P did mention that there will be a seminar on 16 April 2011. But too bad, Boss passed me the assignment and I have to undertake it

I do hope that the seminar handouts will be able to pass to parents who are unable to attend.

Also, on the second page of the letter, there is the portion, Survey on \"After School Care\". I remember previously there was one parent who posted here and asked about this issue. Guess the school is really working on the possibility of having that in the school premise :celebrate:

          Hi Kabby,
Thanks for the offer; appreciates much but think I don't need it as I attended the Maths Workshop held last year and indeed benefit a lot from it. I still have the notes with me as DD1 filed it into her folder πŸ˜„

I salute and praise the Maths HOD and her team of colleagues who were presenting the slides and examples last year - very detailed :celebrate:

Hope you & LKVM can attend and gains from the experience too πŸ˜„

Hi parents, when did you receive the survey on "After School Care"? I have not got mine. I am a working parent who need this service in the school premise. My elder daughter is in P2 and next year, my younger one will be entering P1. So, I need such service in school premise to save travelling time. It’s safer in school premise, as well as convenient for them to participate in CCA. I hope more parents can support this idea to setup one in CPS.

The letter dated 01 April 2011 and my DD1 brought back the letter on Friday, 02 April 2011. It is on the 2nd page of the letter.

Btw, Dinky - I have not dropped you a P.M. previously; did you happen to read it?

                  champion,
i did not or have not received it either. Not sure why.

                  Hi Dinky,
looks like our kids have the same age gap / are the same age! My ds1 is in p2 now too, and ds2 entering P1 next yr as well.

Looks like I have to update the 1st page again. Happy to do so cos it means more parents are actively posting.

Champion, your dd2 also P1 next yr right? I know LKVM also has another, but perhaps 1 yr younger than our no. 2.

My ds2's presch P asked me to consider the new sch, cos it is within walking distance to my place. But I am not sure what the sch's name is, who the P will be, and what CCAs and programmes they will offer. Only if I know that, and it is suitable, then I'd be interested.

By the time we have all the info, I wonder if it will be too late, because for siblings, it is Phase 1 and it is quite early, right? I have not P1 registration before, can you believe it? So I am a greenhorn, this coming round will be my 1st.

Just fyi lah... If nothing goes wrong, ds2 will go CPS. Only if the new sch is v attractive, I might consider, since I can walk there. πŸ™‚

                    Hey Kabby,

                    where is this new school?

                    To all,

I am also very interested to go for workshop however not very sure if i can attend cause there is some appointment but will see if I can postpone the appt and go to the school.. c how it goes...

My DS2 will be going to P1 only in 2015 πŸ˜›
                    hi lkvm,
oh, so your ds2 is 2008 baby? He's 2 yrs old than my dd then. πŸ™‚

There will be 2 new Pr schs in Jurong West, according to MOE website.

The one near me is at the junction of St 61 and St 63. If you use streetdirectory.com like me, then you will see a green empty patch at one of the junctions. That is where the new sch will be. It is under construction now. Said to be ready for students Jan 2012 and thus will be open for P1 reg this yr. But everytime I pass by it, I wonder, can it really be ready by Jan?

The other one is at St 73 or 75. I didn't take closer look at that one since it is not under my consideration. I will send all kids to the same school because of convenience. Only if it is within walking distance, I will consider a different school since it will not make a difference in transport logistics.

I tried googling both, but have no more info on them right now. 😞

Yes, because of the convenience and to have my \"DD1 oversees DD2\" - I will send DD2 to CPS. I really dread the idea of sitting in WGPS school hall's to go through the balloting \"horror\" again! (I had one in Y2008 for DD1) πŸ˜› Many friends even neighbors are \"coaxing\" me to give a chance to DD2 to try WGPS which all said to be \"better school in JW\" after Rulang.....

Aiyoh - good or no good - ultimately they still learn the same syllabus - go thru exams and eventually ends up in the national standard of PSLE! I am not εƒδΈεˆ°θ‘‘θ„θ―΄θ‘‘θ„ι…Έ, just feel convenience and happiness most important to my 2 DDs. I still have a baby boy, but still long way to go lah - he only coming 2 years old in Sept this year so he will be another phase that I will be looking at

yes, it will be nice to have the older one look after the younger one! it will be cute to take pics on the 1st day of school too, both in the same uniform. πŸ˜„

for the new schools, i think registration won't be tough. def no balloting. i also don't like to have that kind of balloting stress.

CPS is good for my ds1, and he's so happy there. I will not be taking him out. But I am curious about the new sch and will def be checking it out if it is ready in time. Will share more if I do find out more. But I think you and LKVM are not in the same area as me, so you may not find that so convenient?
