Hamster gave birth!

Used to have 13 hamsters. Started off with 2 and they gave birth. After that had to separate the males and females into 2 different cages. Then the females fight. For hamsters, females are fiercer. Then had to separate those which fight and those which are injured. End up with so cages. Kept them until all died of old age.

Can share what are the signs of old age? I know hamsters usually live about 2 years and mine is about a year old. Thanks.

How do you handle your hamster that died of old age? Find a spot and bury them? Where would be more appropriate? If can’t find such a spot, how?

Some hamsters can live beyond 24 mths. I would like to know what are the signs of old age for a hamster. Lack of appetite, sleeps most of the time etc?

I just received an email from the SPCA saying that they currently have about 30 hamsters at the shelter looking for loving homes. Your sister might want to go down to take a look?

Signs of old age: loss of fur, eating less, sleeps more and stop running the wheel, basically less active
