How do you handle your hamster that died of old age? Find a spot and bury them? Where would be more appropriate? If can’t find such a spot, how?

Some hamsters can live beyond 24 mths. I would like to know what are the signs of old age for a hamster. Lack of appetite, sleeps most of the time etc?

I just received an email from the SPCA saying that they currently have about 30 hamsters at the shelter looking for loving homes. Your sister might want to go down to take a look?

Signs of old age: loss of fur, eating less, sleeps more and stop running the wheel, basically less active

I dug a hole in my flower pot and buried it with some flowers.

So when a hamster is old, much of the fur is gone ? Mine does not run the wheel at all and sleeps a lot.
