PSLE is not the same as competition. That's why most of the winners are from P5 for NMOS. PSLE questions are not that difficult, so it does not make such a big different. I think you no need to worry abt your daughter, as I know, all winners of RI Primary Mathematics World Contest 2009 will be given a confirmed place from RGS/RI immediately. Sean Pek, one of RI 2009 winners, (6th place), both SMOPS and APMOPS winnner, he received a confirmed place from RI, but he wants NUSH, he attended NUSH selection test on 4 July 2009.

last time, he said that top score of RI 2009 is 69, my daughter is also from China, she scored 43 and 98 percentile, she got Credit Certification only. How abt your daughter, what score she got? as a 3rd place winner, she should above 60, am I right?

Yes, really hard to understand. Since she is the only girl among all 15 high distinction winners, I think they don't bother to check but sent to all winners.

She should be able to get a place in NUSH. They have quite a number of foreign students - chinese, koreans, indians - who are older than the singapore kids. Last year top graduating student from NUSH was from China. She was also older than the others.

But if your preference is for all girls school then NUSH may not fit. Like most maths olympic winners are boys, this school has more boys than girls,

That's funny. :)[/quote]Among all top math talents in both RI and SMOPS, there are less female participants, my daughter attended APMOPS 2009 on 30 May 2009, there were 8 groups, group 1 (top 30 SMOPS winners), group 2 (next 30 SMOPS winners), and so on, only one girl in Group 1, a Indian girl, Surya Mathialagan, my daughter's friend and classmate in RGPS. luckily, my daughter in Group 2, there were only 4 girls.

That is the reason why RI made their mistake, anyway, sunnyrain's daughter is a math talent. hope she can enter her desired school.

Sunnyrain, I am really wonder why you did not let your daughter to attend SMO 2009 (JUNIOR), without doubt, I am sure that your daughter can get award in SMO 2009 (JUNIOR).
