      Hi all,

am looking for Math enrichment for my little one (lower pri) Prefer something that is more creative and fun but at the same time, will help her cope with her school work. Somewhere in the east. Does anyone have anything to recommend?

I have 2 girls, one 6 and one 5. I feel that I may need to send them, especially my 6 year old to some kinda math class as she cannot seem to

understand even the basics. I want a class that teaches basic CONCEPTS as I think that is what she needs now. Would appreciate any input/suggestions.
You might want to consider Kumon or abacus for preschoolers. These programmes focus on the arithmetic part of Mathematics.

There's a separate thread on Maths enrichment for preschoolers.

Anyone send your kids to RC for Maths tuition?

          Do you find it effective?

          Fees are relatively cheaper.

            Hi mummies,

I'm still confuse and tore between CMA and MPM for my K2 boy as i undertand from his teacher he enjoys maths and science in school.

Please advise.... as these are 2 different methods.

            :?

My DS is in P1 and maths is ok except come to problem sum. He always get confuse with the question though he understand what is 'more than' or 'less than'... I am thinking should I send him for Kumon or MPM to help him? or should I focus to get his English improve?... It is no point to send him for Maths tuition when what he need is to get his English hor??? Very confuse.... 😢

                ChiefKiasu:
I started my P3 son on Kumon early this year. That is late by any standards, but his routine calculations have improved by leaps and bounds. Doesn't help much with the type of modelling questions that schools are so fond of these days, though.

                Hi

I am new here and is looking out for Maths Enrichment course for my P3 girl. Agree with ChiefKiasu that Kumon doesn't help much with modelling questions, esp problem sums. However, Kumon does built good foundations. My girl is with Kumon since K1 and is currently doing P5 level math. However, I felt that she needs more help in problem sums. Any recommendations?

I send my girl to Concept Math Education Centre @ Goldhill Plaza, next to United Square. It's run by an ex-MOE teacher who has been featured on The Straits Time And Young Parents... My girl is in P1 now and she has been with them since K2.
