          Hi Kitty,

Family Dental Surgery is at Blk 302 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 #01-1836 Singapore 560302. You can try walking from AMK central - about 10-15mins I recall.

Dentist is a very nice guy, but do call in advance. I’m sure they will be able to give you an estimate how much it will cost.

my DD and DS did the braces this yr in Feb.

DD extracted 4 teeth(2 teeth each visit), DS extracted 2 teeth. 😒
After extraction, there is this metal \"band\" needed to be inserted around the 4 molars.Bands has to be done within one to two weeks of teeth extraction to prevent movement of teeth, if not the mould done earlier will not be accurate. Basically, from tooth extraction to band, have to see the doc weekly, then follow by monthly visit to do adjustment.

So far, DD & DS are used to mthly adjustments (mouth a bit sore for a day or two).

Estimated Dental charges is S$3600 (excludes extractions)

Just to add on, the clinic opens on evenings as well...which is good for us working adults.

And for time consuming procedures (I had my implants done there), the dentist even schedules appointments on Saturdays or Sundays so that he has undivided attention on you.

I would say his charges are rather competitive too.

My son had his braces put on in overseas 4 months ago and now that he is back, i have to look for an orthodontics to continue the treatment. I had enquire my nearby clinic and the girl quoted me a $300 transfer fee charges and also other miscellaneous charges. Before I decide whether to take up his service or not, I have to pay this consultation fee of $85. Appreciate very much if anyone can advise me the cost and also any reliable orthodontics in choa chu kang area. Thank you very much.

I did mine with Dr Sng of WH Dental some years back. Nice and gentle dentist. I did not have any ulcers or severe pain during the whole treatment. His clinic is at Punggol (above Econ Minimart).

I'm not too sure of the price now but I recall his basic package was $3500 (all included).

My mum did hers with another ortho at Novena Square (not sure if they are still there, but they have a branch at Rail Mall). Slightly more exp, but she's a very nice and comforting lady. My sis who is terrified of dentists enjoyed going to her.

Also, it's good to get your child checked FROM YOUNG. My sis' first visit to the ortho was 9yo. At that time, we noticed 1 teeth starting to grow crooked and happen that my mum wanted to get braces for herself, so they went to Smile Clinique (I think I remembered the name correctly). The ortho gave my sis a rubber retainer (cost around $250) to wear at home/at night to prevent over crowded teeth. It worked! My sis has beautiful teeth πŸ™‚ No need for braces at all πŸ™‚

It's very common in US for parents to bring their kids to ortho from young to try their best to PREVENT problems instead of correcting with braces. Sometimes retainers during pre-pubercent age can eliminate the need for braces.

                      insider:
My daughter removed her braces last Friday after about 16 months of having them, earlier then the 18 - 24 months estimate. Her ordeal is over...

Now doctor advised her to consider removing her 4 half-embedded wisdom teeth and she will be going to get a quote from another dentist this Friday.

Anyone has dentist good in wisdom teeth extraction to recommend? Roughly how much per tooth?
about $500 each, may be got quantity discount !!

max medisave claim is $500 per claim....so may be you want to make it 4 extractions !!

curious to know how come the braces were done before any extraction of the wisdom tooth ? wouldn't that affect the position of the teeth again ?

                        can someone recommend a orthodontics?

My child needs one. Is there a difference between the government or private ones?

                        Please PM me.

                        Thanks.
