It only CONFIRMS it is happening. Totally pissed off.
I have to be educated now, in order to teach my son...really really bo bian, then have to outsource. My son tells me majority of his classmates have this tuition for this and that subject, fortunately I can control myself when I hear this.

Teachers are so good at pumping kids with homework. They give compo to the kids to do, just tell them some phrases and the rest is up to kids and parents to produce.
One thing I'm pissed with - asked the HOD EL whether can compile a book of compos to give the students as reading material...she told me, 'in the midst of doing so', but will not be giving the present pupils bcos they don't want the kids to copy...what crap is that ? :x -

I think it is a great idea too! Nowadays, there are many many 'onz' parents, working or stay-at-home parents who personally research and coach kids. I even know some are professionally trained ex-teachers who are very qualified to be in these roles. They should really consider tapping into such resources.

There is a Rather Interesting and Ingenious Suggestion Being Put Forward by a Reader ....
It's Not Easy to Achieve 1:20 T-to-student Class ratio for the Whole Nation. Despite The Many Efforts by MOE, the Class Size Remains Almost status Quo at About 1: 40, at Best 1:30.
Root of the Problem is Lack of Sufficient T and Facilities (ClassRoom).
But it is Noted that there is a Large Pool of Well-Educated Home-Makers who R the Untapped Potential. Many of them have made their presence felt in this Web site.
Suggestion :
To Entice these Group of Qualified Home-makers into the sch Teaching System, with them working part time, say, thus improve the current T-to-Students Ratio to 2:40.
Lead by a Professionally Trained T, and the assistance of the \"HELP-er\" in class, the Kids can have more personalised attention. Like A Pseudo-Simulation of the Tutorial Class in the Poly / Uni.

This pool has definitely increased in the past few years. Some may have more flexible hours as their children grow up.
Current relief teaching pool doesn't need to go through interview. For the tutors, I think interview process and content training will be good. This would mean some effort from school..... -

Good suggestion! If there's such a scheme, I'll surely sign up ( even volunteering I'm willing to do - but on a much less reduced frequency of course!) Pay cannot be so \"miserly\", but also not expecting an excessive amt...
Thought now our current sch system has this position called the Teacher's Aide ? I was int. in the job before, but if not wrong, the pay totally puts me off then!
