Yes, good that she pay for her own airfare and finished her loan, otherwise lugi. The contract we have is that regardless, employers have to pay the airfare if either one wants to terminate the contract pre-maturely. So sianz - we are always at losing end of the stick.jtoh:

Yes she went on 10 days leave luckily I never pay for her airfare.. asked her she must pay herself... then tried calling her on the number she gave no response or out of reach then 12th day no news so I cancelled the WP and look for new maid.. but considering I was FTWM I had too many problems handling this.. waste of money, waste of time :stupid:

Hey, sounds like my helper too.....40years old, can cook, knows how to sweet talk, can tease my kids (dun have to take care as they are big liao plus I'm the main caregiver for my children). Helper has to look after FIL tho. Have been with us for 5 months, generally I'm pleased....except I wonder how honest she is. During her first month, she tried calling overseas while I was out....hmmm. Now, she'll get a call every month and then she'll have this damn pity look and start telling me about her 'sob' stories.catang:
will say i m lucky FOR NOW to have this maid, with us for a mth exactly today. her sal is $490 and thou i felt heartache with such high pay but compared to the previous ones which ranges from $280 to $380, this one is v experienced and communicate with whole family in mandarin but eng with me.
my mum likes her as she can cook and knows how to sweet talk, my children likes her as she fed, shower, play with them, i like her as she knows where n when to stop, not to kpo but only thing is she likes to yi lao mai lao and i will tell her off when she does that. she's 41 but looks young and she under-declared her age when she came over, told me if she doesnt den she wont be able to come out from indo side.
hopefully all her goodness will last, dat's y i say will say i m lucky FOR NOW
1st time : Money she left behind for her children was stolen (3/4 of it....weird, why would a thief only take 3/4 of it??), son's handphone stolen too.
2nd time : Younger daughter wants a laptop, elder son went ahead to buy. Call to ask for $ despite she having told them repeated no salary for first 9 mths. Well, I just listen. Oh yah, son using back old stolen HP number.....
3rd time : Mom died.....this I gave her a little money plus the CNY angpao, she remitted some back.
4th time : Just today son called again using new a HP number. Claimed house window smashed. 2HP, TV, CD Player stolen.....I questioned her, I thot you stay in Kampung and has lots of neighbours? How come this can happen?? She just tell me dunno dunno. Next, told me that if her dad & son old HP (the 2 stolen) sends SMS over, just ignore. My gosh, if they were stolen, why would the thief send sms out using that number and to SG???
I really do not know what to think.....maid trying to con my money? Anyway, Catang....do hope your maid will continue to be good. Do update once in a while....I'm really curious.

ty i hope so too, just hv to close one eye cos at times she will argue but not in rude ways e.g cutting fruit and the core area not totally clean, she said can eat when my ma told her no, den she still insist can, my ma just shut her up by saying can eat den u finish up all

Care to share your SOP? Pls pm me, thanks.I created SOP for my maids, with every details, then I gave her a schedule on what are the things she need to do daily, what are the rotational duties.
Even with that detail, she dun follow, when asked her why, couldn't answer. She with us for about a year, just resigned and left yesterday. She was a transferred maid, worked in Msia before for 4 yrs, ex-employer dun like cos she can't cook (according to the agent).
Lucky she left the SOP behind, now I just have to follow..........
PS : we were very good to her, and she also quite free at home, reason she quoted for resignation was she missed her family. -

My good maid married a man who was already married (& divorce) with 3 grown up children. She bore him a girl and from her savings from working here in SG for 5 years when she was just a young girl, she bought a house near her husband (I think). She love him so much I think did whatever he said. In the end he managed to sell away her house and used up all her money to do some business. Whatever it was squeeze her dry and then not contact her. Did not support her at all nor give her any money for their girl. When her girl was 2 years old, she had to come to SG to work as a maid again since she got to support her girl and ended up working for me.cwc:

i have the exact same feeling as u and i think true that most of the men there (the maid's husband) are in this category.
When her husband knew of this, he contacted her again! All her family members told her to dump him but she refused because he is her girl's father. Her family members were quite fed-up and angry with her. Now after working for 3 years and I suspect also her friends her in SG got such experience told her to really must dump him. For me, I told her she must learn her lesson and this time when she built her home, must be in her own home-town and not let her husband get the house-deed or whatever ever again!
She has now decided to dump her husband but can see she is quite sad and sometimes distracted when she was going through this. During her 1st year here, the husband's first wife even call her to try to sweet-talk her to give them money because the 3 children needs to go to school and university! :?
When she told me this, I was very unhappy and told her I did not give her the hand-phone so that her lousy husband and FIRST WIFE can call and disturb her in SG! She said she did not hang up but just left the handphone on let the woman talk and talk.
I told her yah what, she gundo because people see that even after this man aka. her husband took and sold all her house and money, she still forgive him and continue to want to love him despite not even supporting her. So Tom, Dick & Mary (1st wife!) also call her lah! Suckle mah! (Not in so harsh words but essentially this is what I told her!).
So now she ignore her husband, building her house in her own village. Her family members now happy with her for dumping her husband. And her girl also told everybody her father has died! :shock: Her girl is now 5 - 6 years old and looked after by her aunty.
My maid now on home-leave for 2 weeks continuing to build her house.

Oh. So it has to something criminal. Too bad for us poor employers then. And future unwitting employers.
She went then later came back after 3 months and got too much higher sal... I wrote to MOM for blacklisting they said they do only if any criminal offence or stealing too bad :stupid:jtoh:
If her purpose was to go home she should just have told you since she was paying the air ticket anyway. Of if she had no intention of coming back at least give you a call by the 10th day. You did the right thing by cancelling the WP.
In circumstances like these, can we blacklist them with MOM? It seems unfair that they can pull fast ones on us and we can't do anything about it. -

[/quote]not i want de la but i need a maid to help with caring of my handicapped child and she was abused by not only one maid and one of them actually broke my gal's arm by twisted force (too bad found out from the doc after maid went back for gd, she had cooked up father/mother kena something bad story so she wanna go back, end up my piggy bank coins all emptied by her), the rest is either have BO (ask her to shower but she dun heed and still have the cheek to steal my gal's hp to use - i let her off but sent her back to agency without notice), SICKO (stole my gal's diaper for haven knows wat use), A HANDFUL OF ACT BLUR AND LANGUAGE BARRIER (ans yes but do another thing instead since day 1, kept her for a wk cos dun change even after agent spoke to her, duno how to crack egg, duno how to on water heater, duno how to boil water, duno how to put water in ice cub tray, etc which can make me @_@), FEIGN ILLNESS (faint n no response when i called her repeatly, agent asked me to on the phone to speaker phone n place it beside her ears, told her if she dun wake up, we gonna call for ambulance if fake she gotta pay, she sat up immediately but of cos when ambulance came she pretended to b very weak cos she's worried she had to pay, end up doc called me actually really nothing wrong with her), GREAT PRETENDER (lotsa food for her to cook at her own time own target, she complained to embassy twice i din give her food, agent informed me den i knew and 1st time she told me embassy anyhow say, 2nd time say cos she duno wat to cook), LAZY PIG (i say can take nap at times if feel tired becomes she make it a habit to sleep as and when she likes), CRAZY (threatened to jump off building saying she v scared to work for us, my ma always scolding her when always do things we din ask her to do and things we ask her to do she dun do but everything also say yes mum - when she 1st came she can understand wat we say n do things v swee v gd but suddenly on 3rd day only, she told agent her eng not so gd so dun know wat we want her to do), TINK OF BF (1st thing she does when i fetch her from agency, dash into toilet to use the phone. i confiscated n found she was preg b4 n sent back n come out again de, they always mtg up for sex n she wants a rm to herself always say cant sleep not enuf sleep cant work, i told her if she wan she go find an employer who can let her have her own rm otherwise she have to keep changing employer till she found one), I DUNO (always saying i duno when u ask her anything - she's the one who washes, hang, iron, kept the clothings but when my bras n pants when missing, she said i duno), GD TO BAD (b4 she even came to sg, her sister came our place looking for her and she only have off days after 6 mths, true enuf after 6 mths she changed from a obedient hardworking maid to pinocchio) and many more which i cant recall for now
