Janet,
Closing down ? Serious ? OMG  that is so surprising.Sun_2010:
Janet, did you know that the Ghim Moh book shop is closing?
Felt sad. Will go down one last time again.
They are closing down tmr....
Mummies, if you want to get the Grammar guide by Teachers' Production (Upper and Lower primary), better do so asap.
Comparing Grammar guide (Teachers' Production) vs EPH's grammar quick revision (which Champion had uploaded the pic at link below), which is better?

Hi teh_oh,Hi Champion,
Congrats! My child is struggling at 13/20 for compo for both languages.
We both are \"hardworking\" parents trying to have our kids to excel in their school work :celebrate:. Because Paper 1 is 20% for the SA1 CL paper, so I just hope at this \"last minute rush\" - I can do what I can to help her to score better :D....
Again, I have to say I no good in teaching Composition writing too and I am one that not in favor to check and correct the content of a child's work. My DD1 has being bringing EL & CL Compo back to do as homework because teachers say,\" Not enough time to do in class!\" I let her θͺη±εζ₯ and she only comes to me occasionally when she does not know how to write a certain Chinese Character
Just feel that we parents this generation really θΎθ¦δΈη¨εε! -

Are they just closing the particular ghim moh branch or stopping production of their booklets for good?

I feel that the teachers in your DD's school is very proactive in this aspect. If I do not step in to try to coach compo, I think my child will not even pass. There are only 2 EL compos done this semester and 1 CL compo. Only gotten back 1 EL compo (which he got 13/20). In his CL tuition/enrichment, the few compos he has done (with good helping phrases) only got him 13/20. I cannot let him θͺη±εζ₯ because he tends to fall short on the number of words if I leave him alone to work on it himself. :stupid: My only consolation that that so far his strength (compared to languages) lies in Math and Science. -

This traditional bookshop cannot survive long bcos the assessment books they have are not cheap compared to Popular...understandable since they buy little. As for Teachers' Production, it looks like the author may contact another supplier to carry stock. -

Congrats - at least your son is strong in Maths and Science :celebrate: ! My DD's is rather weak in these 2 subjects so Mummy here is trying to help and coach her. To compare, generally I feel that boys are better off with Maths & Science :boogie:...Girls are stronger in languages - Don't know why so but this what I observe among my peer's kids too.
