I am just speculating that that could be the case. Ya know, chiffon and sponge cakes are light and fluffy cos very little oil or butter in them, butter cakes are more heavy and dense cos more butter in them mah. So I put one and one together and thus the conclusion. πŸ˜›

 Another question for jessicawongcs to ask her shi-fu.
Haha. before long the shi-fu will be asking me to pay fees and join her class. So many questions. Saebuk only this fella.

the answer is yes. adding more butter will make the bread dense and might not taste as good and is unhealthy

Good to know my conjecture is right.

      And yes unhealthy.

Strange that she is teaching the class how to make doughnuts when she keeps harping about things being unhealthy. πŸ˜›

Oooh, but those doughnuts sure look good.

may i know what mixer machine do you use for your dough? or you just use hand?

the lao-shi recommend the one below which cost abt $800+
dont think i want to get so big one....

Wow this machine looks so heavy-duty and professional... Most of us here bake our breads with a breadmaker, and the breadmaker is able to knead doughs, so I don't think it's necessary to get that pro-looking machine, at least not for me. πŸ˜‰

              Hello :imanisland:

Can I check with fellow bread kakis if I were to use soft bread function and use 1 tbsp of butter as opposed to the 1 and a half as stipulated, would it affect the end result of the bread???

Just trying to cook healthy, thats all.

Sorry, autumnbronze, I haven't tried the soft function, so not able to advise you.. but you can try it out. I'm sure the half tbsp of butter won't affect the texture much. :scratchhead:
