      Littlefly:
      madinked:

Actually the reason I let them have handphones is simple. They almost don't have a life here so it'll be nice to have a phone and they can at least communicate with friends. In the end she used the phone all the time. I had to step in a few times and stopped her. There were many times I stepped out of my room to see her in her room. When she saw me she would pretend to rearrange things. Despite warnings of keeping her phone, I'm reluctant to do I since it's her phone and she's 34 or so. I would think she has more self control than that.

As for off days I gave my maid cos she said she has relatives here. So I thought again it would be nice to be able to meet some people whom she can communicate easily and without restrictions. But in the end I think she went out to meet guys more than relatives.

Maybe you can tell her to use her phone at night -like after she finishes her work. Its the same when we work - our bosses also don't like if we have personal chats on the phone frequently on office hours. 34yrs should be mature and sensible enough

generally these girls are not taught to budget. my maid felt rich when she collect her pay of $380. remit for younger sister highschool edu $100 + 26charges (western union) phone card unlimited - top up all the time. buy buy buy fancy cheap useless stuff...... in 6mths, only save 280 with me, on my insistence, (50 a mth),
everymonth hometown sure got poor story n ask for more money. and maid said money so fast finish. for sure lah! as she felt so powerful dispensing her pay.
nag her every payday not to send more money home. she said her previous employer tell her that expensive things then good, so she buy from 7-11 toothpaste, tidbits, can drinks. ahhhhh

Can understand your skepticism, Littlefly! Although my maid never ask for salary advancement except that one time her girl fell very ill, she will hint about salary increment very well! πŸ˜› For eg. she will tell me her friends told her nowadays no longer can get maid at SGD300+ or even SGD400. Because if change maid, nowadays pay SGD500 or more etc.... I said very well because that few times will take me a couple of days before it occurred to me she may be hinting at her pay to be increased....

I recently heard of this Indon maid frm a friend that she wanted a transfer as her salary should now b 450 today, when asked where she heard this she replied \"M O M say.... Her employer challenged her and brought her down to MOM..... at MOM the customer service officer mention they never implemented this fixed salary and told the maid off.

I wnt to Unity employment at adelphi and their indons are at 360 plus 20. I guess the 20 is for no off days. I think they are very reasonable.

Your friend is very free to bring the maid down to MOM just to listen to the CSO say no such thing.

Last Time I Very Fren With My Prev Maid.
She Look See our Face, Will \"Auto\" Know What We need.
Things Like heard us Cough, or Clear our throat very Loud-ly, she \"Auto\" Bring Warm Water for us .... And prepare Cough Medicine after meal ....
And Prepare Porridge for us ....

This current one, I talk Minimal to Her. outright talk also no use.
even When We Sorethroat, Coughing, She will Still Prepare Fried Chicken, Curry Chicken, Black Pepper Beef - ALL stuff that we cannot take .... :faint: :faint:[/quote]The maids from long ago are very different from the new maids. You can't take it for granted that they know that you shouldn't be eating heaty food when you have a sore throat. I don't leave it to my maid to decide on the day's menu. I decide, she cooks. That way if we're not well, it's steamed food. I always tell my maids, you're cooking for me, for my palette, not yours. Otherwise all the food will be fried, oily and very salty.

same here. i think it's better we take charge than let them decide. it's our meals wat and their knowledge on healthy food definitely not as good as us who read/see more than them.
she is suppose to jst help to prepare/cook not decide on the menu. i decide on wat to buy during marketing, she helps to bring back. i see many maids go market alone, i guess they decide wat to buy/cook.

Sometimes I let my maid go to the supermarket, but on those occasions she goes there with a marketing list and I check the receipt against the supermarket list, to make sure she doesn't purchase 'extra'. I had one maid who came home with extra cookies and chocolates. I asked her how come she bought them she said \"I never put in the trolley. Don't know.\" Like real, some kind soul dropped it into her trolley and she didn't notice when she was paying that there were cookies and chocolates in there? If they want to eat, just admit it lah. Or pay for it with their own money on a separate recipt so no need to ansswer to the employer.

Then sometimes, the money they give you back doesn't tally with the receipts presented. One said the taxi driver took her the wrong way and she had to pay extra. But no receipt to prove. Dubious right? I told her if she ever pulls that stunt again she would have to pay the taxi fare out of her own pocket. So now they know receipts are compulsory and subject to scrutiny. πŸ˜„

trying to ζ··ζ°΄ζ‘Έι±Ό, hoping it goes unnotice. ❌

I do all the marketing & ask maid to cook, norm 1 dish she decide/suggest cooking style. normally try to have 3 dish 1 soup, Mon to Fri. At times, I'll go simple by cutting 1 dish or do 1pot ... ESP when I think she's tired or I have extra chores eg. clean fan. Wah, maid now lazy, keep trying to stop me at 2 dish telling me enough. At times like this, all the more must tekan her cos I'm already very lenient, a lot of chores only asking for once a week or fortnightly. Still wanna be lazy. Even I do more often when I was maidless ❌
