I recently heard of this Indon maid frm a friend that she wanted a transfer as her salary should now b 450 today, when asked where she heard this she replied \"M O M say.... Her employer challenged her and brought her down to MOM..... at MOM the customer service officer mention they never implemented this fixed salary and told the maid off.

I wnt to Unity employment at adelphi and their indons are at 360 plus 20. I guess the 20 is for no off days. I think they are very reasonable.
For once, we hear about MOM on the side of employer. This MOM employee should be complimented for telling the maid off. šŸ˜Ž

But then come to think of it, shouldn't your frien's agent be the one to tell the maid off there's NO such rule from MOM ? 😐

What time does your maid sleep? Does she usually have 8 hours of rest?

My maid usually sleeps around 11pm+ after she is done with all her chores and she will get up at around 6am+.

my maid ard 10.30 - 11... depends upon the work.. kids sleep by 10-10.30 and she wake up at 6.. so 7 hrs sunday she can wake up by 7.30 šŸ˜›

My kids wake up the same time on sunday so maid also gotta wake up early to help out. But she can skip cooking for the family on weekends as usually we will eat at parent's place or ta bao.

The maids from long ago are very different from the new maids. You can't take it for granted that they know that you shouldn't be eating heaty food when you have a sore throat. I don't leave it to my maid to decide on the day's menu. I decide, she cooks. That way if we're not well, it's steamed food. I always tell my maids, you're cooking for me, for my palette, not yours. Otherwise all the food will be fried, oily and very salty.

same here. i think it's better we take charge than let them decide. it's our meals wat and their knowledge on healthy food definitely not as good as us who read/see more than them.
she is suppose to jst help to prepare/cook not decide on the menu. i decide on wat to buy during marketing, she helps to bring back. i see many maids go market alone, i guess they decide wat to buy/cook.

my maid said in her ex-SG job, she decide what to cook/buy and went marketing alone and made many friends. I doubted her words as she always self-contradicts later by saying her Mdm fixed a strict schedule daily to decide what to cook.

I also noted that she used alot of MSG if we leave her to cook on her own. Better to monitor what they are doing from time to time...

whatever from her x-sg job, now she is with u, she follow ur instruction lor.. indon maid usually eat very saltish.. my maid beginning also not used to our cooking as too blend for her, she will add soya sauce, want chilli (my chilli sauce gone in one week, big bottle type), add salt, add pepper.. then i control her.. she slowly adjust.. now she is ok..but she said when she due to go back maybe not used to home food cos used to here, everyday got soup/meat her home eat chilli with rice.. quite poor thing..

one more thing, did your maid grow fat after 2 years? both my maids (work till 2 years) put on so much weigh.. like 1.5 bigger than when they arrived, cos they said at home they seldom got meat e.g chicken to eat.. mostly small fish and vege and lotsss of chilli and ricee

she said \"I never put in the trolley. Don't know.\" Like real, some kind soul dropped it into her trolley and she didn't notice when she was paying that there were cookies and chocolates in there? If they want to eat, just admit it lah. Or pay for it with their own money on a separate recipt so no need to ansswer to the employer.

wah like that also can. she must be thinking we are as dumb as her ?

                         Yah lor. šŸ™‚

Then sometimes, the money they give you back doesn't tally with the receipts presented. One said the taxi driver took her the wrong way and she had to pay extra. But no receipt to prove. Dubious right? I told her if she ever pulls that stunt again she would have to pay the taxi fare out of her own pocket. So now they know receipts are compulsory and subject to scrutiny. :D[/quote]Jtoh - this is good advise for us to manage their spending of our money. Just curious, how come she gets to take taxi on her own ? sending the kids to classes ?
