Thanks for sharing! I think your friend is great in helping her child. Early interventions are crucial to aid in the child's progress.
Autism is a life long journey. If a doctor literally tells me that my child has fully recovered from autism, I will dump the doc. \" 医生已诊断孩子已几乎痊愈\"..
To me, that is giving a false hope. A hope that every parent with children of any difference ('disorder') would like to believe in. Treating a different child as a typical child, it is depriving the child of many needs he deserves . Sadly, personally, I have met irresponsible medical professionals who had given us false hope during our times of despair and we had been through times thinking that it will go away...
Although the hard fact is that they do not recover, they can learn ways of overcoming it. These kids need explicit guidance to cope with unfamiliar situations. New situations arrive time to time and it is a long learning journey for each and every of them. The journey will stretch into and extend throughout their adulthood. They may learn ways to cover up the distinctive differences among groups at times, but the way their brains are wired up, they think differently, react differently, speak differently. Simply, these differences made up who they are and they will be different for their entire life. The good news is, there are successful stories, many. You can google to find out. (e.g. : http://myautisticworld.com/successful-life-stories-of-autism-people/). Autistic children can live happily, so do families with them. It is not easy, never easy to live with autism in the family, but it is not impossible. Set reasonable expectations, celebrate every success, and enjoy life in the most simply ways. We are not alone.
I have accepted that it will always be a part of mine and that is this part that make her extra special. When I asked mine, what was in her mind when I shared her conditions with her. Her answer was, \"With people like us, the world is more colourful.\"
I found this video about helping a child cope with autism : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMKQCE5CZK8&feature=fvwrel

Hi Insider or anyone here
anyone knows how to summarize that in English?
If not possible, then it's ok I guess.
Tks in advance :)) -
insider, thanks for the sharing. look forward to the second part.
IJJ, its important to achieve peace of mind with an issue this magnitude, and I can see that in you. I am working towards that myself. thanks for the encouragement. it is so beautiful of you daughter to say what she said. these are the simple things that add a new dimension to life, and in contrast make the other mundane aspects of life look small and not worth squabbling over.
