Chinese Assessment Books

Hi Mummies,

Suddenly I'm at a loss getting Chinese assessment books for P6.
But I've bought Victoria Publications for about 2 years now...switched over from EPH. I like this title '每课一练强化练习'. It's not as tough as SAP author Wu Li Jun's books.

If assessment book is too difficult, then it doesn't serve purpose if kids are pissed off with the passages. However, too easy an assessment book is not going to be effective either.

Thanks for sharing. Fyi, I am using the following books for my PSLE students. I find them useful and you may want to take a look at them to see if they are suitable for your child.

1) EPH PSLE Chinese Intensive Guidebook 小六会考精练指导
They have included the vocabulary learnt in P4 and P5 as well. Hence, it helps student to recap what they have learnt in P4 and P5 to better prepare for their paper.
It is section by section with explanation on how to approach such questions.
Composition and Oral practice are also compiled in this book.


2) EPH 每周华文课文复习陈炎.李妍合编
Chapter by chapter with revision paper
I skip some of the comprehension and do only the vocabulary parts for some chapters.

3) Victoria Publication 每课一练强化练习 Intensive exercises for Primary 6
My students like to do exercises from this book as it is not too tough for them and also notice their comprehension passages are not "too dry". They can relate to what is happening cos the incidents mentioned in the passages are what we encountered in our life too.

4) EPH 华文应考模拟考卷 Preparing for Chinese Exam Model Papers( New Syllabus)
8 sets of paper in total

Thank you for your kind and valuable recommendations. I checked out 'EPH 每周华文课文复习陈炎.李妍合编' yesterday and found it interesting to have a 复习 after 2 chapters. Will definitely bookmark these few titles and get it when there is 20%. Thanks again.

Thou Popular only gives us one 20% voucher now, they do allow us to buy the bk wth the 20% voucher for 50cts. Bought b4 as I needed to buy something urgently at the start of the hols…proper planning on how to make use of the 1st voucher not done yet then…

Fyi, popular is now having a promotion: 4 books for $10 from now till mid May if I am not wrong. From what I understand, you can mix the books meaning you can get the above title together with \"Must Know\" Mathematics and another grammar book also from EPH. For those mummies who are getting this title for the other kids, can easily select 4 books to enjoy the discount.

I have this one. Referred to it a few times and do find it useful.
Only problem is no time to go through.

Yes, while stock lasts, Popular allows purchase of additional PopClub magazine at 50cents each. Worth the 50cents cos of the 20% discount voucher inside. I've done it too. The year they gave 3 coupons was a special 10th anniversary promotion.

$600 definitely not enough. I've already spent half b4 the amt arrives in my bank.
1 voucher is not enough for a month long holiday.
