baby2momma:
no advise????
any idea about yew tee pri??? seems over these years, performance has escalated....... or yew tee & unity same same type???
i know that if i fail to get a place in DLS, confirm cannot get into unity under phase 2c supp..... and even yew tee....can forget it.....
Sorry. I'm afraid I'm in no position to comment on YTPS or Unity specifically cos my children are not there.
Besides academic performances, you may want to look at the varieties of CCAs provided by the school and the kind of teachers in the school. Try gathering information from your neighbours . -
ME also in dilema whether to register P2C at Unity, knowing that the vaccancy is so limited although just staying across the school...sigh...
Or should just register at Yew Tee to safe as Yew Tee also within 1km.
Just worry if I not sucessful in P2C at Unity, but also no vacancy for P2C (S) at Yew Tee....Really headache....
me also lah.....i guess we both live around the blocks of unity; hence yew tee & DLS are all within 1km too..... there is a good choice for all 3 schools but likely like what chief mentioned earlier, a higher probable balloting success chance wld be unity as compared to dls....as for yew tee, they still hv slight vacancies for phase 2c supp according to past years but this year; if unity starts turning disappointed parents away, they wld go for yew tee (if there are still vacancies for 2c supps la!!)

:?: :?: :?:
Dear Baby2Mommon and Honey and Honeybeel:
If i am not wrong, by looking at the balloting history, 06 and 08, there were no seats available for Yew Tee, and i believe due to cut down intake and new principle, most likely they need balloting in P2C also. --- My personal guess -
sorry, i always type wrongly. What i mean is in 06 and 08, there were no seats available for Yew Tee in P2C(S) anymore. U can check fr the balloting history chart

In fact, i agreed with your hubby, i rather let my kid have more time to play, more time to sleep rather than spend time for travelling. Nowaday, the kids are so streesful for diff kind of homework, tuition etc, i do not wish to waste time on travelling. I also kiasu and want the kid to get rounded education, but i always tell my hubby, both of us never score no 1 in the school, and also not the shinning stars in the school, but both of us are graduated in local University and i am holding 2 double degree, all by our own (including the financial support). Last time our parent always \" bo chap\" as too busy to earn money. -
DLS told me i didn't stand a high chance of
getting my child in.
Plus, with the lukewarm
response with initial inquiries already, we were
quite put off. My suggestion is just to stick
with Unity Pri and have a back up choice of another
school from the balance of the pool within the area,
going with the nearest one... JMHO.
All schools have their individual strengths. It is also
up to our children to perform to the best of their
abilities and potential.
Yes, my friend in Yew Tee says the school has rich
CCAs. She stays very near to YTPS.
You're not alone, my hubs too place importance
to travelling distance. Men are more practical?
Heehee.. Niwae our choice of being near to the
school REALLY helps! -
Hey buds, sorry what is JMHO???
And did you already register your child?? Which phase??
Hi Anna, yes, I do agree with you that we should not place unnecessary stress on the kid but I guess with society's placement on enrichments, tutorials & all, we are all entangled in this big rat race......our next generation do not only stop at uni level but it'll be more than that; hence our generation of having own financial ability to support self study and all will be so different from our kids generation.
Which school will u likely to b enroling your child to, if u don't mind revealing??
-
Hehee.. It's Just My Humble Opinion or some
others may see it as Just My Honest Opinion.
DD2 already got a confirmed space using jie-jie's
sibling registration phase > Phase 1.
Didn't
even need to go down to the school. Form is given
to jie-jie for us to fill up at home and return to the
school the following day.
But just to share that i did not manage to do PV
for the jie-jie the previous time, and also out of
the 1km radius.
To be frank we were like on
the line of the equator. Yes... reali that heng, if
you get what i mean.. phew. PV was impossible
due to a new infant addition to our family then..
No balloting for that year also, thank goodness.
Within 9 to 11 days, we received the confirmation
form indicating the P1 orientation date.
