Is it safe to bring my sone (5 years old) to go JB by train and in Jun holiday, is the station in Tanjong Pager still open?

I checked from the website, seems there’s only two trains from Singapore daily to JB (1 at 7 or 8am and 1 at 2pm), am I right?

During school holiday, will there be more train?

Is any food available in the train?

How long it takes to reach JB and what’s worthly to buy in City Square nowadays?

check travel wiki JB for the train timings.
            No food on the train.
The journey can take up to 2 hours because of the delays when you have to disembark at woodlands and re-board the train. Suggest you travel one way by train and the other by the buses located at the customs i.e 170,160, CW 1 2 3 etc

City square just spend the time eating and watching movies (cathay cinema there ard 10RM), should be enough for a day trip. Safe because you wont be going onto the mainroad.

            Hope it helps.

            Regards

Would advise against taking train unless for nostalgic reasons due to the traveling and waiting time. heh

Thanks  and yes it's more for my son's experience to ride train.

Would the waiting time be shorter if it's weekday or not school holiday?

It may not be too good for a 5-years old boy to wait 1 hr in the checkpoint and he's longing for eating in the train but seems he'll be disappointed.
