jst curious, are u guys alumni of NYPS? else why go all the way there?

        My hubby is old boy.

Schools in Punggol - not to our liking.
Schools in SK - difficult to get in. Those that are easy to get in are too far (need to change bus/MRT/LRT).

        Our current plan is:
We will ferry him to and fro for P1 & P2. If he likes it at NYPS, then we will continue sending him to & fro till P6. If he doesn't like it (too stressful or the distance makes him too tired), then we will change him to a neighbourhood school in Punggol and I will spend extra time coaching him on my own at home.

I think the new MRT line will be ready by the time my boy goes to P1.
So at upper primary if he decides to carry on at NYPS, he can take train home after CCA if we are unable to fetch him.

        Hi

I am the 'old; girl

Our initial plan was to put my DS's name in NYPS during Phase 2A, then switch him to another school in Phase 2C if there should be availability. Though the logistic was an issue, we were more concern if we are able to cope with the academic 'stress' 😞 (both of us are very average students  ).

However, during Phase 2C, all schools that we were eyeing required balloting! Don't think we would want to go through the balloting stress and end up not having any schools of our choice, hence we decided to stay put. DS really liked the school when we had a tour around during registration. Hence, we took that as a sign that that is the right school for him. No regrets. He is now truly enjoying himself there.

The journey to NYPS is pretty alright, as we will fetch him to school. The return trip via school bus is the killer. As he has been taken care by a nanny since 2 months old, don't think we bear to 'separate' them. Above all, his nanny is doing a GREAT job . So student care was never an option.

Can share which route you take & how long the journey is in the morning?

My hubby was also an average student. Too playful. My boy though he loves reading & writing, can be rather playful & 'dreamy'. So we are also worried that he can't cope or don't like the environment (too 'Chinese' for him). That's why we have backup plan of transfering him to a nearer neighbourhood school if he does not like it after P1/P2.

I had just pm you on the route.

My DS is an 'English boy'... yes, literally, who used to speak with an English accent  .. think he had watched too much of 'Thomas train'. During pre-school period, we had a hard time trying to convince him that he is a Chinese, not an 'English boy' 😐 After he attended primary school, he told us that everyone in school speaks English.. there goes our attempt to 'convert' him :faint:.
