Isn't there a new ruling from MOM that we only have to repatriate the maids to an international port of their domestic country where they can easily find their way back to their hometown?

      Yes.
Or to the Airport of their Country where they Depart from.
      For Indonesia, Most Probably Jakarta.

Whether we buy tickets for them to Jakarta, or direct to their Hometown, it's the Employer's Call.

              Littlefly,

me too, facing login issues. had to change my password then able to log in.

i heard my neighbour's previous maid used to sleep at around 1am (time not fixed) & had to wake up at 6am. sometimes the employer aka the wife deliberately knocked her door until the maid woke up.

5.30am early ah? mine also wake up @ 5.30am daily. but sometimes cant wake up. occasionally on weekends she sleeps in like 7am, mil allowed her. bedtime is about 9-10pm.

              gumiho,
              your maid........ :stupid:
Missbluey, if your neighbour's ex-maid is taking care of babies/ young children, then the sleeping hours may not be fixed - like she could nap in the afternoon. Otherwise, she don't get her full 8hrs of sleep. Some of my gfs tell me their maids don't need 8hrs of sleep (work til 11plus, wakes up 6am) but i think at least we should provide them 8hrs of rest time. Whether they spend this time sleeping, its their call.

Gumiho - your maid quite bold to talk back like this. :x We don't do this to our bosses ourselves. Yes, then ask her to find another employer if she not happy šŸ˜‰ (she paid up her loan already?)

I think you should be a bit comforted that at least she tells you BEFORE you buy a ticket for her home leave. Imagine if she said she'll come back and then not appear at the airport on the day of departure from home... :x :x

I was a bit miffed that my ex-maid didn't fulfil her 2 years. But now I take it as a blessing becos if she had, I'm going to have to pay a LOT more to hire a replacement.

                  Agreed.
My Pal's Maid Go Back On Home Leave in Dec last Year, Suppose to Come Back on 2 Jan 2011 to Extend WP ....
Bought Her Return Ticket, Pay For Some kind of Other Fees (think it's $300+) for her Visa or something like that else cannot Enter spore.
                  And ....
when My Pal go to Airport to Fetch Her .... Waited Hours in Fact ....
                  Never Appear!
Her Family got a hard time, What with Next Day Sch Re-opening ....

So Better to send her Packing, then to Let her Play you out, Right?

Well... i already felt played out because we started asking her 6mths before her contract is up! Y i did that was, since she didnt really prove herself to be a good maid... and if she isn't keen, I would rather terminate her even earlier... and at that time, she kept saying... YES YES YES YES...

To be honest.. im so darn upset that i havent looked her in the eye since yday.. if she ask me something, i'll just answer her w/o looking.. im upset cos now I'm stressed out with finding a replacement maid and my hub was just at TTSH A&E last sun.. and still no idea what his problem is... he is seeing the ENT specialist today... i just felt that she is all out to TEKAN me... :x :stupid: :x :stupid:

                    SMH FOREST:

She is supposed to wake up at 5.30am everyday... her work schedule ends at 9.30pm (with an hour for her to clean up herself)... total of 8 hours sleep... when i say wake up late, she can wake up late by 20-60mins.. got once, a wkend.. she didnt wake up till 7am! :x

OIC! My maid wakes up everyday at 6.30 am while I wake up at 7 am. My boy will wake up at about 7.30-7.45 am then she will attend to him. On the few rare occasions I woke up at about 7 am and she still has not woke up (& clean herself up, open up the curtains, doors, collect newspapers, put away dinner dishes, boil hot water etc), I would feel :x .

Such times, after I finished brushing my teeth & opening the doors etc (with some noise!), she would have jumped up already, apologize then quickly go about doing her stuff.

At night she went into her room at about 9.30 or 10 pm depending on what time we can settle our boy into the bedroom. Not sure what time she sleeps but definitely not immediately since she would catch up on the news or music on her hand-phone.

Definitely no sleeping beyond 7 am when the sky is already in full brightness outside! :!:
                    šŸ˜‰

I used to just make noise.. then realised that even after i've washed up, she is still sleeping happily in her rm! So, now i bu ke qi and will just knock on her door to wake her up... The morn tasks that she has to do is similar to your maid too... so, to me.. its a no-no to wake up late.. we have to head to work n send boy to cc.. so i dont tolerate waking up late..
