Bear in mind that if going genting in year-end hols, it could rain more (than in jun), and if rain (even drizzle), a number of the outdoor rides could be closed. That was what we experienced last year. lucky we were there for 4 days (3 nights), which really was a bit too much originally. but it turned out to be about right cos first day reached ard 8 pm - topo king without GPS, so got lost… so started play only on day 2 and 3, one day indoor and 1 day outdoor. the outdoor day was a bit disruptive cos of drizzles now and then. lucky it didn’t last the whole day, else completely wasted.

if going 2 days, i suggest try outdoor first unless it is raining or is expected to. else if first day try indoor, and when wanna try outdoor on 2nd day and it rains, you will not be able to do so.

        Hi,

Like to ask those who have traveled up to genting highlands recently by self drive. Is the road up very windy and steep? Will it be 'uncomfortable' for young kids to take the car route up to the top?

Another question is those that have stayed at World club room in first world, how long did it take for the checkin process before you can go up to the room? I think i read in the earlier posts that the normal queue (non world club rooms) can be up to 2 hours?
I drove up to Genting with wife and kids in Feb/Mar 2010. Kids were almost 4 and almost 5.

Drive is ok, at least my kids were ok. But on the way down, my boy got sick and he threw up. So better to have some plastic bags ready for kids to vomit into.

Can anyone share how do i get to Genting if I take a flight from SIN? Was planning for a short break away in Mar. Airport limo=bus or taxi?

Currently done a booking w Five stars however thinking of the 6-7hrs bus ride doesn’t quite excite me.

            Happy Friday 🙂

Can someone share with me driving experience to Genting, is the road up to Genting tough to get up? Does a 1.5l can able to take the slope up?

Hubby thinking of driving up cos the coach bus will only depart from Genting at 2.30pm which means when we get to SIN should be close to 9-10pm. Thought of driving up so that we can have the felixibility to leave Genting at a earlier time and reach SIN earlier. And where should we park in Genting and what the parking fees like?

Besides the cool weather, we love the themeparks

(not the adult-pull-jackpot type, but the indoor/outdoor rides).
A short 5 hours drive, Genting is always one of our favourites
for a short getaway. For this trip, we actually stayed over at
Sunway for 2 nights first before driving up the hills.

Any car can go up (only slow of fast)
                - but u need to off aircon, roll down windows

Drivers are always careful when going uphill, but the danger is downhill!
In-experience drivers will keep braking (until brake loss effect, we should use engine brake, and low gear instead)

                Going back to Singapore.
GPS might not be helpful when going to Genting. GPS brings you shortest route, which is through massive jams in KL central! (u should take ring road heading towards KLIA and Seremban.

Intending to take those 18 or 24-seater coach to genting during the june holidays… need to check which company provides good and responsible service. Can anyone share with me yr experience with the services offered by Five Star or WTS or Grassland as well as their coaches? I would prefer the pick-up pt to be in the west where is nearer to me.

                  Many thx in advanced.

I went with Five Stars in December and took their luxury coach which holds 12 to 15 people. They have pick up in the west near boon lay. I remembered that they have a ticketing counter there as well.

I find the lunch break too short for my liking. Basically, we have only 30 mins to finish our lunch. On the way back, there was a stop over at some confectionery shops for us to buy their local products. We reach SG at past 10pm even though we left Genting at 2pm.

                      Hi

Planning to make a Day trip to Genting this June holidays and aware that it’s also school holidays for our neighbour as well.

We will be staying in KL. May I ask, for those whom have been there before during the June Hols:

                      1) Is there always a long wait/ queue to almost all the stations?

                      2) Going on a Weekday and Weekend do make a difference i suppose?

                      3) Is there any kind of discounts for the All Park Day Pass? Say Booking online?

                      Thanks in advance.

                        1) There r long Qs for the more popular rides. Be prepared to wait ard 30min or more. Sometimes, I'll stand in the Q 4 the kids while DH brought them to play at a less popular ride 1st.
                        2) Weekends r definitely more crowded. Do reach early. Think the opening hrs during sch hols is earlier.

                        4) Not sure abt online discount but there's an annual pass. Quite worth it if u r going often.
