I just got back from popular, bought two assessment books for my younger boy.

        Hi Lynn2,
You are a fast worker 😄 ...Me have not stepped out of the house since this morning 😞 - Being running through DD1's assessment books & guide books and those past years' exam papers. Taking breaks to log into this forum and she is now having bicycle -ride in the neighbourhood park.

Once again, thanks for the info :celebrate:

Give your K2 kids a break, bcos come P1, it won't be fun anymore.
Can't believe my P1 daughter has this so-called summative assessment...diff way of calling it but to me :x , it's as good as SA1. Crazy time.

            Hi Lynn2,

Some work is needed, be it nursery/K1 or K2, so that the mind stays active.
My daughter did have a good time in kindy b4 she graduated. Now that she is in P1 this year, the workload seems to be increasing esp in Term 2.

              Hi Janet,

              Thanks for sharing.

Ya, basically just keep him company,to do reading and simple work, just to occupy him, or will be too handful for me.

              Cheers

I went easy on her for first 2 terms...but at Term 3, we started to do more work and on daily basis. Reading is more essential when preparing kids for P1.

                  Hello Janet,

Very true, reading is very crucial for preschool children.I started to read with him when he turns 3 years old ,for both languages. Now, its to let him has more exposure for the use of the language and to apply.

                  Cheers

                    Hi Parents,

Went to Popular to buy Synthesis book yesterday (last minute). Remember that I read earlier that someone recommended Conquer over Longman. However, I bought Longman as there is a simple explanation preceding every ‘connectors’. However, realised that the examples/exercises in Longman is not sufficient/some have ambiguity. Probably going back to buy Conquer next round.

                      Hi teh_oh,
Is this the Longman one that you bought? http://i53.tinypic.com/29uzhfp.jpg\">

And, you going back to get this one? http://i54.tinypic.com/2r6elpx.jpg\">

:imanangel: Sorry if I upload wrong pic because I am also very tempted to get either one of these 2 after the SA1 😉 😉 .....

                        Hi Champion,

                        Yes, both pictures are correct.
I compared Longman’s P3 and P4. Although both have very similar contents (I believe P4 has more ‘connectors’; I was only specifically looking for the few that my child learned in school, for last minute preparation), P3’s notes explanation (1pg per ‘connector’) is simpler to understand. Conquer has more exercises per ‘connectors’. Will compare again to see if I should get Conquer P3 or P4 because now already half year gone for P3.
