... Why should a child need to gain respect of his parents any more than his parents to him? If anything, it should be the parents acting first. ...

somehow, I felt this was your position while reading your first post.
my feelings were correct; we are from different \"worlds\".
I was brought up in a vastly different manner.
The mentioned of \"Gratitude\" in my reply to your post is one big difference between our worlds.

      cheers!

As much as I see homosexuality as a sin, this sin is no different than my sin of bitterness or hatred. I have to say that as Christians, we are to show love, compassion, and mercy to those who are struggling with the same gender desires. At the same time, God has called us to repent of our sins. If we have died with Christ, then we are new creations. Do we continue to live in our sin so that grace may continue to increase?

the latter part a bit too 'chim' and I doubt those not in the same community will appreciate it!!

that being said, I agree that we 'lust' over all sorts of things, bigger house, bigger car, bigger diamond... even our neighbour's wife!! (not me...my neighbour old couple lah!! 😛 ). So ultimately at the end of the day, it's about how we manage our lusts that's important.

When someone love someone…they don’t care whether in other people’s eye, it is acceptable or not…can you stop the feeling for someone just because others do not accept that feeling?

whoever he is (especially if he/she is a family member), my door is always open.

i am a christian and i know this is a sin but how can i cut him off - do that to my own family and friends?

i can only pray for forgiveness and compassion and mercy from God.

Yes, counseling is definitely needed. Homosexuality is not a part of us. The basic rule of survival is to reproduce. How can two women or two men have children together. Only one man and one woman can reproduce.
