      Hi VeryKiasu 2010,

Thanks for the info. I met e VP n she told me it's 130pm for P1. She will check it out why so many classes are down so early. She has seen it herself!
I thought it is 1.20pm, 10 mins earlier than P3-6, so that younger ones do not get knocked over by older ones.

My DD, even though tall for her age, was once knocked to the floor and hit her head as a result by an older P5 boy in school. The boy was apparently running out of the hall and bumped right into her. According to her, he didn't even apologize and just ran off.:(

Apparently, this EL homework impartially to punish the whole class because of one student's mis-behaviour. The other subject homework does not seemed too bad, infect rather appropriate .

Do Teachers co-ordinate at all ?
Homework as a punishment?? That's terrible. What on earth is the teacher thinking of?

Maybe you could try to feedback to department head or level coordinator about this need to coordinate. Makes a lot of sense.

Over the years, there have been incidence ranging from trivial , bullying , to those that border on that it may cost someone's career and rice bowl. I am trying very hard not to be overly protective , and to give the teachers the benefit of doubt . Maybe the teacher have a difficult family issue.

          It is becoming very difficult.

This is a fully grown adult, dealing with 7,6 , 10 years old. A fully grown adult in a position of trust and responsibility, abusing .

                Dear All Forumers,

My daughter is currently in NYPS P6. We recently have to change her Chinese tutor due to some personal reasons. I am urgently looking for a Chinese tutor replacement. Should any parents have any good tutor or good tuition centres around NYPS area, kindly email me at [email protected]

                Your help is greatly appreciated.

                Thank You very much.

                Rgds
                Cindy

I suppose your son is joining P1 in 2012? You should be able to view the booklist on Pacific Bookstore website sometime nearer to end of the year. It may be best to check the updated list every year, cos' the school does change some of the books year to year...

I met up with the P finally. Got a first-hand account from her... very helpful... Here's the synopsis..

                        1. As mentioned by BigDevil earlier, the holding site will highly likely be at the Canadian International School. She also mentioned that very likely the P1 & P2 will start school slightly later, so daddies & mummies could drop siblings all at the same time same place and the younger ones can take shuttle bus from NYPS to CIS. However, she did *hint* that parents may need to chip in some $$ for the transport... There would probably be an option for the parents to send their kids directly to CIS if they wish (esp those staying nearby or on the way). Same for returning from CIS to NYPS. Parents can choose to let their kids take shuttle bus from CIS to NYPS or pick them up directly at CIS , either to join their older siblings at NYPS or to participate in CCA.

                        2. However, she did mention that if school starts later, then likely it will end later too (otherwise from where to \"siphon off\" the missed-time? Chinese? English? Math? PE? Arts?) I did feedback to her that to consider not ending so late, cos' some may have to come back to NYPS for CCAs which start at 2pm (then where got time for lunch??? 😢 )

                        3. Yes, she did mention about CIS canteen being small, so likely to cater food from outside? E.g. children pre-order from some set menu...

                        4. As for Learning Bliss, the tentative plan is to operate from CIS - since they have a huge compound there. So older siblings will have to take shuttle bus from NYPS to CIS if they are going to Learning Bliss. Although LB also suggested to operate in both sites (CIS & NYPS), availability of classrooms at NYPS is another issue.

                        5. Dual session - yes, she said they did consider having two sessions. But the main issue is the space available for (before) after-school activities will then be very very limited. Imagine hearing Chinese Orchestra practices while having English lessons... 😓 She said teachers' feedback is to remain as single-session but operate from 2 sites rather than compromising the quality & quantity of after-school activities. Furthermore, the affected parents would still have to make at least 2-4 dropoffs/pickups a day, and the idea of facing the 6+pm traffic along Bukit Timah sounds nightmarish enough... :siam:

                        6. Sounds like enrichment activities (not CCA) may be held over 2 sites as well. For those in CCA, no choice, have to go back to NYPS...

                        7. Oh yes, there will be a library for the P1 & P2 over at CIS! :imcool:

Basically, there'll be lots of logistics and coordination to be involved for this temporary relocation for P1 & P2!
